Heartwarming story, I like how you used reflection theme in the game!
Awesome game! The coziness with/in the art is on-point, and the story is quite nicely written. I especially loved how the game gives you a sad and depressing introduction and puts it in your own hands to simply help yourself, the monologue also really well showed the progression with the pacing feeling natural. Nice work! ^^
Good work, you definitely capture the cozy vibe. I'm not a huge visual novel guy but this was a nice introduction. I think you explored your character nicely and the room interactions were a nice touch.
I haven't played that many visual novels over the years so I can't say much about if it's good or bad but I can say that I really enjoyed it and that's what's most important to me. Good job!
This visual novel is heartwarming and well written ✨
Good job and nice use of the jam's theme ☕🧇🌈
Really respect how you captured that feeling of being lost, wrapped up in a troubled mind, where it’s so clear how much the person needs help (but showing the same level of compassion to yourself seems almost impossible). A great, short game tackling a difficult topic.
Heartwarming game, i was worried that the topic would make the overall game a bit too sad for my taste but it went completely in the opposite direction and surprised me in a good way, congratulations on making such a profound game :)
Thank you for the feedback! I was a little worried about the sensitivity of the topic, but I am glad if I was able to "pull the game back on track".
I played some entertaining RenPy games in the past, but this is the first one that actually spoke to me. The emphasis on "not recognizing the person in the mirror" and how the MC keeps referring to their reflection in the third person, it reminded me of how people, if they are sad, lonely, and depressed start disconnecting from themselves, feeling like an observer of their own life. I didn't have the slightest clue that someone could manage to capture that feeling well, let alone in short a game jam. Thanks for the game. You have the capacity to help more people than you realize.
I deeply appreciate every comment on this thread, but yours truly means a lot. Thank you.
A fellow RenPy dev! //handshakes
Great story with a good message~ Nice work! ^v^)
Yaay, RenPy gaaaang! :D
An interesting approach. I wonder if this would have been enhanced with you actually reading the text. Then it would slightly easier to immerse the players. Also would have liked if the fire danced/animated while it was burning. Congrats on completing your visual game!
Thanks for the comment, and for playing the game!
The fire does have a slight fade in-fade out animation, sorry if it is not too visible. I did not have time to do a more elaborate animation, unfortunately :D Maybe next time.
I liked that you diversified this mini-novel with interactive elements. Nice game.
Nice little story! I enjoyed it
I don't usually play games like this, but the story was really good, great job! :D I'd appreciate it if you could take a look at our game too :3
"I can't find it in me to help myself, but if I think about someone else in this condition, I definitely want to help them."
Why is this always the case? Great work, I found I really related to the story.
What can I say! This was wonderful, well spoke, and said what it needed to say without being cliche.
Great message! Caring for the person in the mirror seems like a great way to learn self-love!
