How does the game fit the theme?
A fractal landscape is a strange place
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I downloaded a wind sound from freesounds
learned a lot about shaders from iquilezles.org

While the visuals are nice, it is a shame it doesn't include an interesting gameplay loop that fits it.
Radical & efficient ! Visually impressive ! Congrats !
Feel free to test our game !
First game Iβve played in the octahedron gathering genre, pretty strange! Love the visuals obviously the fractals are wicked cool
(is it all raymarched?)
Yep, its all raymarched :)
It renders a different layer for the octahedrons so that I can change the colour easily. I did manage to get a layer with polygon models working by blending by depth but didn't really find a good way to make use of it.
Well, it seems like the moment with fourth dimension from "Interstellar", but it's freezing. And it's really strange!
Hypnotic. Haven't a clue how this is done. Is it an actual fractal? Definitely a strange place!
It uses raymarching :)
The actual fractal based on a menger sponge
https://iquilezles.org/articles/distfunctions/ is a great resource
Really like the visuals and setting here! I found it a little hard to play in fullscreen as you need to press escape to start, but this is a cool entry, nice work!
Not much gameplay, but very impressive viuals, the game looks amazing :)
Really cool visuals, I think starting the game with esc and not capturing the mouse makes it a bit difficult to play but it's a really great experience once you get used to it. Great job!
This is a very compelling concept! I'd love to see this expanded into a more robust exploration of fractals and mandelboxes.
This is very cool. I enjoyed flying around maths.
Wow, never played anything like this, although it did make me dizzy π . Would be nice to have counter for the gems so there was a goal in the game.
Excellent work!
Wow really interesting world. I don't think I've ever played a fractal game like this. Gameplay was lacking, but the visuals made up for it. I would love to see this turned into a rhythm game or taken a step further somehow. Flying through the world is cool, but especially because it's a repeating fractal, it gets repetitive quickly. But still great submission!
The art style is really nice, I enjoyed the visuals a lot.
Maybe some additional ambient sound would help bring the atmosphere to life even more.
Great job! π
Iβd love to hear your thoughts on our game as well if you get the chance.
Really enjoyed flying around this strange place! The sunset vibe is really nice!
I'm clicking on anything with a fractal during this jam, us fractal people have got to stick together! The vibe of the fractal itself was pretty immaculate. It was weird to have Esc be the button to press when playing in browser, as the first time I press it I don't open the menu but instead exit out of full screen mode.
As you well know, very interesting visuals! <3 Tried to figure it out flying around. I could see crystals disappearing in many places when I took one which was confusing as a gamer, but an interesting clue as a dev? :) Definitely complex shaders, likely multiple viewports?
I can see with more work on the game loop, using this art style, the game could do well. Thanks for the refreshing entry!
Great idea to use fractals as a strange place! The visuals are nice to look at. It would be nice to have the score overlayed on the screen instead of having to pause. A timer with some kind of goal to aim for would give more depth. Maybe have a penalty for touching the fractal and have higher value rewards in tighter spaces. Mouse doesn't stay locked in place so playing in anything but full screen is difficult.
Love the art and style. Gameplay/sounds were a little tough on the ears. I also had issues keeping the mouse locked in the screen when playing in browser.
tight scope! very cool game I can see myself lost for hours here
