How does the game fit the theme?
DING explores the idea that a place can become strange not through chaos, but through subtle change.

Each floor appears normal at first until something feels slightly wrong. A moved object. A different number. A detail that doesn’t match your memory. The player must observe carefully and decide whether the floor is normal or anomalous.

Woah the visuals are amazing!! I just really like the Anomaly concept, the atmosphere just makes up for the Strangeness. Amazing!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! That really means a lot to us! ^-^

Wow I love Anomaly games!! It reminded me a lot of Exit 8 and esp this other game called Shikansen 0 by Chilla's Art, not sure if you've heard of.

I kept getting stuck at one of the rooms that looked almost identical to the starting room, but then noticed there was a vending machine with human limbs, can't believe i didn't notice that lmaoo

This was rlly fun, loved the vibes and atmosphere a lot, great work guys!! :D

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much I’m really glad you enjoyed the game 😄

we actually got the inspiration from Exit 8 and I’m super excited to check out the game you mentioned too!  hahaha sorry about that tricky anomaly with the vending machine it really catches people off guard 😅

I always love anomaly games! But I can't help but feel like there were some glitches. Sometimes I would find an anomaly (like the flooded office and the long table in the big room being replaced with a small desk) , go into the left elevator, and then be reset to the first floor.  Also, sometimes after going into the elevator, it would turn black and I wouldn't be able to see anything until I found my way back out of the elevator. Otherwise, this was a great game and the anomalies I did find were really cool! Also, how many floors are there? The furthest I got to was floor 7.

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for your feedback!

I just wanted to clarify something about the floating office and the long table being replaced with a small desk are actually not anomalies those changes are intentional environmental transitions and this is mentioned inside the game they’re meant to meet the game jam theme

and about number of floors there are 7 floors in total and the main objective of the game is to reach the 7th floor which is the office so if you made it to floor 7 you actually reached the final goal!

I really appreciate you playing and sharing your experience 😊

Didn't get it but it's great .

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

what exactly u didn't get it? i may explain it to you😁💕

Submitted(+1)

Didn't get the gameplay ...... like maybe I'm dumb but is this just a visit level system and when I went to to the elevator didn't thought how to interact (even with items and stuff) :/

Developer(+2)

No worries, it’s not just a simple visit level system. The gameplay is actually similar to Exit 8. Basically, the game works in a loop:

  • The first floor loop is normal everything is where it should be and you get used to the environment

  • After that you keep looping through the same area, but some things might change subtly or disappear. Some changes are obvious, others are hidden, so you need to pay attention to items and their positions. NOTE: changes in lighting or the room’s atmosphere don’t count as anomalies

  • If you notice something has changed in the loop, you take the left elevator; if not, you take the right elevator.

  • The goal is to reach the 7th floor, which is your office, by noticing these changes and figuring out how to interact with them.

So it’s all about observing carefully and using what you find to progress through the loops.

alright , thank you !

your welcome<3

Nice one ! The concept is simple yet it's hard to reach the end. I had troubles finding changing objects ! Feats the theme really well !

Developer(+1)

Thank u so sm i’m really glad you liked the concept 😊

Submitted(+2)

Nice work! I was able to catch a couple of anomalies, but a lot of times I'm not very observant. Especially with the lights etc. change lol. Great job with the theme

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! Catching even a couple of anomalies is a win. Really glad you enjoyed it and felt it fit the theme! ^-^

Submitted(+2)

Hoping it's longer, just when I start to feel something it ends.

Developer(+1)

I’m really glad you felt that way 💕

but there are actually a lot of anomalies in the game  each run can be a bit different so try playing again and see what you discove😁

Submitted(+3)

Ahh finally reached to my office after failing so many times. Good job.

Developer

Thank you so much!

My friend and I are both big fans of anomaly games, so we played this together, and it was fun! The room space itself was nice and there were some cool/subtle anomalies (including some that we don't know because we missed :p).

The themes are a cool concept, but the impaired visibility with some of them (especially the red light one) made it difficult to find anomalies, and it also hurt our eyes a bit to look at it for a while. :p

Other than that, it fits the theme really well, so great job! ^^

Developer(+2)

Thank you sm!!

I’m really glad you liked our game 💕

about the red light theme that’s totally fair I wanted it to feel tense and different but I can see how the reduced visibility could make it a bit too much I’ll definitely keep that in mind and try to balance atmosphere with comfort better next time.

Submitted(+3)

It fits the theme really good!

Developer

Thank you!

Really Cool!

Developer

Very cool Exit 8-style game! The gameplay and environment fits the theme really well. Nice job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! That really means a lot to us. We’re glad it fit the theme well!

Submitted(+2)

really cool! a game like exit 8 is literally perfect for this theme! i felt a little overwhelmed with how many things there were in each loop and a bit thrown off from the weather and lighting changes, but i thought the game was nice overall :D good job!

Developer(+2)

Thanks a lot! We really appreciate the honest feedback. We experimented with stronger lighting and weather changes to keep players on edge, but we’re really happy you still had a good time :)

Submitted(+3)

omg i love how eerie this is

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!!

Submitted(+3)
