What's the strangest/funniest bug you encountered while making your game?
I would say, the bug, when jumping was no longer working and the capybara hovered above the crocodile.

Don't forget to add the title of the jam somewhere in your submission page!
It's on the site: "Super Nintendo Style Graphics Jam #2".

This is problobly the most polished game in the jam because it's so simple, and that's not a bad thing it really works for the game. there's not much for me to say besides it's a really fun game and I feel like the normal mode should have had some type of challange like i timer, because as it is right now the normal mode and easy mode kind of blend in.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and I'm happy that you liked it.

Yes, probably we should add some more difficulty to the normal mode. But it got only added, as other mentioned that you can spam the arrow keys and it's too easy with that. So normal mode fails the qte if you press a wrong button, while easy mode just let's you push whatever you want without any punishment for it. Thanks for the idea with the timer, we will probably add this at some point.

Cute game and very easy to understand how to play. One thing I realized was that you can spam the arrow keys and get the QTEs very easily, because you don’t get punished if you get them wrong. Maybe this was on purpose to make the game more accessible or relaxing, but it did surprise me nonetheless.

The name of the game is amazing by the way :D

Thanks for playing the game. I though about punishing the player for wrong input, but also thought time is short enough to not need it. πŸ˜…

But neither I nor anyone else who tested it came up with the idea of simply pressing all the arrow keys at the same time all the time. πŸ™ˆ I will fix and re-balance it. Thanks for mentioning.

Developer(+1)

So, it's fixed now. :-) Or better, we have now introduced a "Normal" Mode which fails the QTE, the first time you make a mistake and we kept the spam arrow key possibility in the easy mode.

Oh sweet! Great choice in keeping both options, and thanks for making that change!

Must protect the gator at all costs.

Positives:

+I loved the characters so much. I would be friends with both of them though the crocodile would probably eat me.
+the gameplay was fun and simple, just the way I like it.

+ the art was very expressive!

+ the music reminded me of Banjo Kazooie, very super nintendo and fun.

Suggestions:

> The art while good wasn't really cohesive but like I'm being nitpicky. I would still call it a success

>The infinite scrolling I think wasn't the most inventive use of the loop feature. I'd go a little crazier next time. I feel like I could have leaned harder on looping in my game too.

Overall:

Awesome!

Developer

Thanks for playing and your kind words.

About the infinite scrolling, it helps the theme, but our main loop idea was the crocodile stuck in a lasso loop. πŸ˜… We probably should state that somewhere, to make it clearer.

Excellent bite sized and irreverent fun. Love your take on the constraint!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game and thank you for the nice review.

Great little game. I feel like the Theme was applied in a very abstract way. I'm assuming it was taken literally, as in stuck in THE loop of the Lasso. Which I found fun. The game was pretty simple to understand and get the hang of, which I enjoyed.

Developer

Thanks for playing.

Yes you got it right, we took it literally. πŸ™‚

played it at least 6 times my best time was 48.2 seconds very good game though doesn't "strictly" follow the restraint thank for the great game

Developer(+1)

Great to hear, that you liked it. πŸ™‚ Yeah, we used the "stuck in a loop" literally, as the crocodile is stuck in the lasso loop. All the other loop ideas we had were not possible to do with our amount of time we had to spend on the game jam.

oooh that great i love that we used the player are stuck "looping" around eachother
