Description
I was inspired by the first gen battle themes. In terms of composition, I used a rhythym that is common in many pokemon tracks. I also used the phrygian scale commonly used in these tracks. When it comes to the sound design, I used vsts that are trying to replicate classic gmeboy sounds.

This was really good! The sounds you chose were very fitting, and the rhythm and melody were spot on for a battle theme. I would say the only thing is the percussion channel can come up a bit more in the mix, but other than that it sounds like a classic GBA soundtrack.
Once the percussion and bassline kicked in, I felt the sense of rhythm for a battle track! The percussive sounds are a bit too low in volume. I also feel like the melody blends in a lot with the chords in the beginning and end; giving it its own rhythm like in the middle section helps it stand out more.
Really good battle theme! You could definitely expand on it and ramp up the intensity somewhat.
This is sick! That intro bar was super cool. Maybe adding some of those super fast notes in spaces in the second half could bring the intensity even more. I really liked the syncopation and how clearly it is a Pokemon battle theme.
The rhythm definitely screams pokemon, it gives the track that iconic energy. However, I don't think doubling the bass a two octaves is a good idea, especially since it's an abrasive square wave, I'd breaking up the bass into a running line kind of how you did with the B section. That would also give that intro less empty space, especially since there's no percussion during that part. Overall I'd give more focus to the melody and less and the chords, they kind of have a similar thing going on so they blend together, maybe the melody could hold some notes out longer rather than short staccatos each time. Also I didn't really hear the Phrygian sound, to me this sounds d minor, I didn't hear any Eb, that would be a cool note to add in the melody somewhere before hitting the main tonic chord again. But this has potential, keep writing!
I love it! I like the syncopation. the chords could be turned down a little (also use an eq as it clashes with the bass a bit).
