Derivative Works Guidelines

I've already had a few unsavory incidents with derivative works, such as people posting borderline NSFW fanfiction in my comment section, or people generating AI images of my characters, or even sales of other people's fanworks in online stores without the creator's permission, that's why I've laid down guidelines for people to follow.

I have also encountered some people using other artist's fanarts for video edits, image edits, PFPs, banners, etc.- while I may not have included this in the guidelines (and honestly, it shouldn't even have to be mentioned), please make sure to ask permission from the artist before using their fanart!

For official artwork (done by myself), you don't have to ask permission for edits or other nonprofit use, but as stated in the guidelines, PLEASE DON'T USE AI.

These guidelines apply to all of my past, current and future projects, including but not limited to:

TLDR;

  • Don't use AI.
  • Fanmerch is ok, but only if the asset is yours or you have authorization to use that asset (i.e. commissioned w/ commercial use)
  • Yes, you can make NSFW content, but don't post NSFW publicly (your own space, like Twitter account is fine)

*Guidelines are subject to change/update without further notice.

oh wow I didn't realize this was even something people were doing, you'd expect people on itchio to majorly be against AI and know where to put their fics :/ distasteful. really unfortunate that people who do this kinda of thing probably also won't respect the guidelines you've put out either, other than the fic writers.
