Description
My main goal was to mix an old 8 bit style with a newer modern music type. the first section of the song is inspired by the pokemon black and white critical health theme. the second part was mainly inspired by little root town. I had to rush the end parts since i was running out of time, but my main goal was to show how much a game or music can develop, going from 8 bit, to orchestra. I used FL studio, and many of old 8 bit sound fonts such as final fantasy and chrono trigger, as well as a mix of other plugins and such. i made this in about 2 hours give or take, and I wish i had more time to work on it, but this is what I have for now.

I liked this piece a lot, though I am not sure it felt super Pokemon to me. I really like the variety of instruments, but there was a lot of melodic movement in three voices at the same time (especially in the later half of the piece).  I think of Pokemon themes as having pretty simple melodies (and sometimes countermelodies) that are handed around, I think it would be unusual to have this much melodic movement at the same time. That said I think it sounds lovely! Excellent work!

The song is really interesting and I enjoyed all the sounds you chose for it! Given the short time frame I think it still has a lot to it with lots of moving parts and countermelodies so nice job. On the other hand it's a little hard for me to picture where this would be in a pokemon game, maybe because of the sound fonts from other games. Listening a little more it felt almost like a theme for a cave section where you're solving puzzles. Overall though I really liked it and to echo some of the other comments the theme is calming and meditative.

As someone else who rushed to bang a song out in a few hours, you did quite a good job! There is a nice variety in instrumentation, although in the middle it became tricky for me to focus on a melody among all the moving parts. I could see this being an ending credits theme, it has a nice reflective feeling to it.

I liked the different sounds you used and thought it was quite interesting how you introduced/abandoned them in different spots throughout. It feels quite meditative - I feel like it could land more clearly on the I chord a bit more often to avoid it feeling too meander-y - for instance during the section with guitar, flute and piano - maybe the piano could agree a bit more with the I chord or sync up with the guitar rhythm more often. I agree with Luca that this is fantastic you managed to make this in a couple of hours and I liked the relaxing vibe it had :)

This is very good, especially for a couple of hours work. I think it gets a little too busy in the middle where the piano melody joins in, so perhaps culling some notes or melody lines there would be a hood idea.

This has good blend of old and new sounds. The melody is quite lovely, bittersweet in a way in it's playful yet soft/reserved sound. I like the interaction between the guitar and the flute. For the triangle wave, I'm not a fan of the way it pops every time a note ends, some release on your vst's envelope should fix that. Maybe what could bring this track to the next level is some gentle percussion like a shaker, sleigh bell or castanet. This piece for some reason evokes a Mediterranean feel to me, so those might be the best choice, and it might be a good idea to lean into that. Nice job!
