Fun art direction ! Got confused with the gameplay, sometimes the penguib bar was low, and when he got to the platform he still burned.
Thank you for your feedback! Another rose for the artist’s bucket and another bug for the developer’s one. x)
appreciate it!
I looove the art (and I love penguins...). Like the rest I got confused on the gameplay since I couldn't really get when I was making points or not. At some point I got sad watching my penguins burning in ashes, I decided to stop the torture. Maybe a tutorial level would help a lot to get the idea of the game with just one penguin or two. At the moment I got a bit confused and kept hitting my keyboard to save those poor birds.
I love the idea though! I really hope you can tweak it a little because that's really a nice game! Great work!
We will definitely fix the main bugs and try to make the experience less confusing. Thank you for your feedback, and once again, shoutout to our phenomenal artist!
Great art! but I have to join the rest, the gameplay was pretty confusing and to be honest I'm not a fan of those "press this key fast or you die!" kind of game, they make me nervous and it doesn't let me enjoy them, but it's ok, some people like those fast reaction challenges. I'm not sure if I fully understood the game, because the timer runs out but you can also make it run out by blowing the whistle. Maybe if instead of pressing random keys, the challenge is that you can freeze with a click of your mouse.
Still, you tried something new and this is what game jams are about, to experiment new ideas, to see what works, what people like, and so on... I'd keep the art and make some sort of chill game, those penguins are ideal for some sort of clicker/incremental where you can catch fish or something, or a cute top down strategy of some sort, as we all said, the art is great, keep it up!
Absolutely, I think the same, great minds think alike! We’re still very new to the game development scene, and game jams really push us to improve our brainstorming and game design skills. Creating an idea from scratch and making it fun is not easy. We tried our best, but the main mechanic ended up being a bit confusing, and the bugs didn’t help either. Overall though, we think we delivered solid work. We really appreciate all the feedback, thank you so much!
Cool visual ! The concept is a bit confusing especially the fact that pinguins die as they go to the platform. But actually had fun playing it once I understood.
It seems like everyone finds it a bit confusing, so we definitely need to step up our game design skills, forged in the fire of participating in more game jams. There’s also a known bug that makes the experience even more confusing. Thanks for your feedback, it’s much appreciated!
Nice visual style, and cute sounds with an interesting take on the theme. Like another has mentioned, I thought I'd be able to cool the penguin as they were running after the whistle, which was quite confusing. Nonetheless a cute quick game
Thanks for your feedback, we really appreciate it! Another shoutout to our artist.
Love the hand-drawn style, the penguins are very cute! The typing mechanic is fun, reminds me of some typing mini-games I used to play.
One thing is that if the whistle goes off and I get the bar down to blue while the penguins are running over, they still die :(. Also would have been nice to have some of the UI elements in the same style, but I understand its a very short window to draw everything.
Overall, great work!
Thank you so much for trying our game and for your review. Unfortunately, bugs sometimes appear when submitting at the last minute during a game jam. We will be fixing them. Thanks again for your feedback!
Truly great Art department.
The game was pretty confusing, but still great job!
Yes, we had some trouble coming up with an original idea, and the overall gameplay ended up being a bit confusing. Thank you so much for the review we really appreciate the feedback!
