The art style is fantastic! I think this has a lot of potential to become a full-fledged roguelike, the core idea is really interesting. The only thing missing for me was some sound effects. Congrats on the entry! :D

I went the biblically accurate route and kept winning, then I took my wings off and lost immediately (x_x).
I loved the game but most of all I loved the art. Every enemy is charming in its own way and they just kept coming! Whenever I thought "cool, one more enemy. This is definitely going to be the last one..." BOOM - Here's 3 new ones you've never seen before! If this jam had sub-categories, I'd vote you for best visual design.

This game was amazing!!! I loved the art direction, and the ideas for the items and stats are very interesting. No clue how i died so fast on Round 10 despite being so OP before, but other than that, it was really fun. I tried to go for an all speed build since i thought that meant i dodge attacks, though reading the other reviews shows that defence seems to be more optimal. Regardless, I really enjoyed this one. The music makes this seem a lot more silly than scary even though the premise is quite macabre, though that did make it funny in it's own right.
One thing i would suggest is to be able to voluntarily thrash items I don't want instead of having to wait for them to rot to get them out of my inventory. Other than that I have no notes.
Last thing, I had some ideas for games that were somewhat similar to this in the modular stat increases, but in a more fundamental change to the playstyle; you should DM me on discord or something (link is on my game for simplicity)! Also, have you ever played cruelty squad, the premise seems a little similar to this, and it's all the better for it!
Really fun and funny game, great art, and really interesting concept. The only thing holding it back is the lack of sound effects for UI elements/battles; Would love to hear things screaming and dying as you battle. Super fun! Would love to see this fully fleshed out and polished into a full release.

The game is funny to play, I found more useful add defence, for various waves I was invincible with 3 Defence point.
I think I found a bug: player can remove and re-add body parts while in battle and recover all his hp.
On round 11 I was literally oneshotted by the enemy with blank sprite
Thank for playing!
Yes, I think defence > power > all - but with some more complexity hopefully there can be a few 'archetypes' emerging, beyond raw stats.
DOH, thats a bug yep! On equipping a part the creature recomputes all the stats, including setting currentHP = maxHP. I should turn that off in battle...
So Round 10 was the final wave, round 11 I put a big impossible placeholder enemy aha... Congrats on 'beating' the game :)

I had a really fun time playing this, it wasn't really scary but it was pretty funny and I loved the art! The music you two chose was a nice touch and was groovy enough to it making the battles feel like they had a good flow.
The combat felt intuitive once I began playing and it was cool seeing the new enemies the further I got.
The rotting mechanic was really cool, it added depth to the game and a sort of leveling up feel without having to calculate XP and other confusing stuff.
I think adding a bit of sound effects could be cool, even if it's just a standard attack/hurt sound effect for every creature.
I like the concept a decent amount, I really enjoy auto-battlers (especially when they lean simpler IE super auto pets) and this feels like it could scratch that itch. I think that the rot mechanic is a really neat idea, but it almost feels like body parts are not unique enough and not rewarded often enough. I think that with some balance honing, and maybe some multiplayer, this game could actually be quite fun.
Also being able to pull limbs back off once you attach them might be sick as well, I didn't read right (my own fault) but didn't understand the rot mechanic right away and then wanted to take the limb off for a fight to level it up which didn't seem possible.
Thanks, yeah lack of uniqueness is an issue partly due to lack of time, I have some more ideas for synergy/archetypes. Also needs a bit less randomness, I am thinking post round you can make some more decisions to help get specific parts to control RNG. Super auto pets was an inspiration yes!
You CAN swap equipped parts out with parts from the bench in fact, but its not obvious, and you cant drag to an empty slot on the bench either.
