Description
For this track I wanted to go for a battle theme but uplifting like some rising to the challenge which is why I called it Rising Valor. This has similar energy to Pokemon games with the very fast drums and the synths gliding over all of that. I used Ableton Live 12, Serum and Addictive drums for the instruments.

This battle theme has some fun and energy to it, I especially like the percussion. There are some harmonic clashes that I would adjust, for example when the melody plays e-flat notes over a c-major chord. I also feel that the mix is not bringing out those chords as well as it could.

I really like the synth on this! I do wish there was a little more variety of tones, but it is very effective at evoking Pokemon vibes! I like the top voice and the drums, though the tone of the top voice sometimes comes across a bit airy. Great and enjoyable work overall!

Very upbeat energy on this one, ends up sounding more like a title screen theme more than a battle theme which is nice. Good mastery on Serum and layering it, too.

For my ears, the track lacked a bit of compositional development. I see that it has an A-B-A structure, which should be great, but in the end it leaves me wanting. What I think it happens is, even though the melody on top is good and the bass and rhythm are pounding happily in the bottom, there is not much happening in the middle. Whoosing pad and some soft stabs here and there are nice, but it should have been a lot more interesting in there. I can’t say if that’s an era thing, but from the eras I listened to, the middle voices had a lot of contrapoint melodies and other hooks to keep things interesting and going forward.

All in all, great and enjoyable work. And extra points for Bling Ditto!

on a different video of yours there is what clearly looks like ai art, this also looks like ai art. You are claiming g it is your art but any other art on your channel does not match this. Please do not claim that ai art is your art.

Really cool and fits well as a battle theme! Great choice in sounds. My only critiques really are regarding the mix. The balance seems to favour the high end too much causing the piece to sound thin and airy. The arrangement deserves more weight than the mix is providing. If you do another mix, check the frequency distribution and see what you can change in order to achieve more punch and depth.

Thank you Luca, yeah looking back at it after a few hours of resting the ears I see what you mean, I’ll look into that, thank you!

Ah that used to get me every time! I had a habit of mixing too bright. Frequency breaks and a good spectrometer helps.
