This is a cool pitch! I want this thing to exist

One specific thing I like about is is you list lots of interesting problems in the motivation section, each of which got me intrigued but made me think they were different domains. But together they primed me to be in the right semantic space to receive your proposed idea which was concrete enough for me to visualise.

As a maybe relevant adjacent thing, are you familiar with the "bullet comments" format popular on Chinese social video sites? this achieves some but not all of the goals that you're aiming for, but it's interesting to see western audiences react to it - lots of people have a visceral "how could anyone watch anything like this" feeling about the UI, even though people familiar with it like it. I think you're going to have this challenge to overcome with any tool that meaningfully changes the phenomenology of engaging with a live experience - bridging from the audience's expectations.

Wow ! Great pitch, lots of inspiration in this one.

I, personally, love your idea and see lots of opportunities for collaborations with the Virts platform (or even just a standalone app would be useful for me (as a content creator) but I'd love a collab too ;P )

One specific use case is the STRANGE-LOOP COMPOSITION

One of the major use cases I intended for Virts was for better cultivating and managing/understanding the relationship between audience and creator. In general, the platform facilitates this by providing "in group space" for the audience to collectively process information together, "safe" from the outside world

I can see this tool being a valuable addition within the platform by this use case, but also in:
-Plurs (collectives) reacting to OTHER collectives or creators (or even reacting to politics, like real time news streams)
-recording "Ghost Records" of videos (like the mario kart ghosts that you race against when trying to beat a high score, but its the valence) and being able to compare it "Plur vs Plur" etc

In a lot of ways this reminds me of those clickers that were used in school for interactive games or to flag if you have questions or issues etc (iClicker maybe?)

It also reminds me of those "stream games" that some people put up as an overlay, where chatting or interacting with some website can cause your name to show up (or allow you to fight, or do some other action etc)

I can see this project going really far if you're able to frame it in the right way and market it to the right people ! Also maybe look into the web3 crowd, I imagine there are collaborations to be made there

Would love to chat more ! awesome pitch and great demos

Interesting concept! Sounds a lot like the Memoria pitch in many ways. My only advice is to keep in mind that simple disorganization doesn't explain our information landscape, if you do well at mapping and unifying, you will almost certainly be actively opposed.

Thanks! heh yeah, I steward some communities that revolve around building out polislike tools, and I shared an invite to participate. Our tools and stories share a provenance, I suppose. So Raul and I are building on the same success stories of the tool Pol.is, and similar math primitives :)

But the stimuli from which the votes/reactions arrive are quite different: livestream moment-by-moment reactions vs each news article someone consumes

I will be honest, I had other thoughts I wanted to share, but my desire to address you nonchalantly talking about stealing groceries outweighs pretty much anything else. So I really have to say, I think this is a bad way of going about things. I am sure you have your own reasons for your actions, but it is an ugly look to either feign indifference to antisociality or to demonstrate genuine antisociality. I strongly suggest both removing this (and so disavowing public signs of bad behavior) and reconsidering the rationale and disposition that leads to this pattern, though I expect that you will not heed this advice. Morality is about winning, and immoral actions are on the face of them losing as acting immorally trains you to be immoral, and being immoral is being a loser.

Aside from that, I like the structure of this document! It reminds me of an "open source" document that I made before, a Google Doc that anyone could edit. I think you made some tasteful aesthetic choices.

But again, very sour on you talking about stealing groceries.
