Stuff you didn't do during the jam
Used some stock scripts that I use in my other projects (e.g. a dictionary class framework). Some of the promotional materials (e.g. thumbnail and game page text) were edited after the deadline.

i did it! i destroyed the galaxy with my pussy. and they said i would never amount to anything
cool interface. (full disclosure: i haven't played cultist simulator.) and a cool little narrative puzzle as well. i don't know what else to say! neat.
hmm i do wish the textboxes weren't right on top of the swamp; that stalled me for a bit because i thought i'd put strength in the slot and it turned out i hadn't, but i couldn't tell because some notification that something else finished popped up i think
Interesting! 🪱 Parasites aren't my thing, but dragging cards into slots very much is, so that worked out just fine. It's a neat set of mechanics! On the minimalist side, and the game does a lot with that. The puzzles are interesting, though I did manage to softlock myself once or twice as well, haha.
A fun concept, but this was far too easy to soft-lock, and ended up being a bit frustrating to play. Turns out if you use the plug while exploring the swamp instead of in your pussy, it disappears and you can't get another, which softlocked me out of being able to grow any red worms. I'm also not quite sure what led up to it, but I also ended up only getting fertility results from the yellow worm, which didn't work in the swamp, and I ended up with no worms and no way to get another. It's a cool idea, but very rough around the edges, I look forward to if you'll expand and improve this in the future.
Woah, thanks for catching that! I'll fix as soon as I get the chance.
I haven't played Cultist Sim, but I really love the kink, aesthetic, and presentation here! I could probably vibe with a full version of this that was a little less linear/storydriven and more mechanics or emergent-narrative driven, perhaps with a roguelike spin.
Though I did get stuck at about the library section, there's still just something satisfying about shoving cards in the boxes, and the parasite kink is a really good fit for the gameplay.
I think this is the only game I've tried so far that has both high kink and high stealth scores, because you can't tell what the game is about unless you read the descriptions, but what it's about is very kinky lol
Lol, thanks for playing!
once i got the hang of it it was really interesting, i was kinda anxious that the moods had timers, i was afraid that i would miss something lol
Thanks so much for playing!
The writing is evocative, and the puzzles are fun! A codex or recipe book may help, there's a lot to keep track of! An easy way to get more honey worms could help reduce confusion, I restarted twice because it looked like I messed up, later I learned that new ones can appear by waiting. Color-coding some key terms or adding icons can be a way to get players adjusted to navigating the game world and figuring things out. Adding some music and sound effects to set the atmosphere would probably keep players more engaged than any gameplay adjustment, audio can do a lot of heavy lifting in games where players think and wait. The premise and flow of the game are really neat both in setup and execution, it's a really dynamic approach to kinky storytelling, I like it a lot!
Thanks so much for playing! You can tell I added the "worm on the way" stuff very last-minute, haha. And color-coded text is a great idea for next time, I'll definitely keep that in mind.
WORMS! WORMS! WORMS! WORMS!
I actually bounced off Cultist Sim when I tried it, so I’m quite delighted I enjoyed this game as much as I did. It took at bit of tinkering to learn how the game wanted to be interacted with - it was about halfway into my first serious run that I noticed a worm’s icon would change when it was “spent”, and the mood cards being time based makes executing them in the correct order a bit frustrating.
Card type icons/colour coding being on the different spaces would be a lifesaver for understanding what goes where, since the fact two spaces in the same area will take different card types isn’t intuitive. I also wish I had a bit more guidance on what “it wants more than you currently have” when you get deeper into the library means - the current new item I have access to (the aphrodisiac) doesn’t seem to have any relevance I can find to the current situation despite me plonking it everywhere I could.
I am hooked enough on this that, if a walkthrough guide existed, I would have definitely sought it out so I could continue playing more of this!
Thanks so much for playing! Yeah, I definitely wish I'd spent more time on tutorials. For the library, you need 3 levels of submissiveness combined (so the aphrodisiac and a gear) to lure the next worm, but I can see why it isn't obvious.
Bless, that hint was enough for me to come back and finish the game. Hoo, totally worth it - the writing is fantastic all the way through, but the writing from the surgeon’s office and after you get the IN HEAT card is so, so fucking good. It also makes the narrative arch work so much better - that descent into the breeding frenzy works so much better when you see how far you fall. This is definitely one of the games I enjoyed playing the most!
I'm so glad!
While there's a couple little frustrating elements, I'm guaranteed to eat up a Cultist Sim-like, especially if it's as good as this one. And the kink elements are WILD i adore it. We live for the worm.
as and Null said,
WORMS! WORMS! WORMS! WORMS!
Thanks so much for playing! Worms indeed.
I have been aching for more games like Cultist Sim (book of hours just doesn’t do it for me :c ) and this scratched that itch as well as bringing plenty of wormy goodness. Finished the game and brought on a new worm onslaught. Good work!
Thanks so much for playing!
It's an interesting concept, but quite a bit janky and unintuitive. I managed to get the Red Egg, but couldn't progress much further. I am certain that I've tried all possible combinations with the Swamp, the gear, and the moods, but I seem to be missing something. It's a bit frustrating, to be honest; but I really like the general idea and I think this can be expanded much, much further. Good luck!
Thanks so much for playing! A lot of players got stuck there - the solution is that you need the fertility mood in the pussy subslot when you hatch the egg, but I definitely could have done more for tutorialization. I copied a lot of design patterns from Cultist Simulator, but not its tutorial >.<. I'm glad you liked the concept though!
If you've played Cultist Simulator before, the loop is easy to get your hands on. I got a bug on gear placement (gear tag not recognized), but the overall experience was fun and scaled well. Thank you for the auto pause, it helped immensely!
Which card/slot did you have the bug with?
The collar and the black.. rectangle.. thing? I do'nt remember what it was, it was the last item I could buy.
I played it to the best of my hability, but I softlocked myself 5 times.
A tutorial or a more forgiving mechanic will help it reach more peeps.
If it wasn't clear by my 5 attempts, I liked the concept a lot, good job.
WORMS! WORMS! WORMS! WORMS!
The game was very nebulous, but after starting over my run. I managed to get everything boot strapped. I digged the story. I think my only criticism (aside from a bit of tutorialization), is that it was a bit tricky remember to *use* items every time I placed them somewhere.
I appreciate the fetishes as I'm into that kind of freaky stuff, but I found the game to be a bit confusing. Neither your itch page not your game explain much, and some cards don't seem to do anything. I managed to get the worm thing going and get a bit of money but I don't know what to make of them, and my cards ended up dissapearing after a while, basically softlocking me early on.
