This is such an interesting idea! I know fine tuned details and tutorials aren't always feasible for a game jam, but spending some time on the wording and presentation of rules could go a long way in the next part. The mechanics seem solid and you have a good amount of different beads, so it doesn't seem like you need much change on those fronts!

The comment below makes a lot of great points. I think the one about showing the color rules separately could apply to the bead material as well- maybe you could have a reference sheet visible at all times, that the player can switch pages on to see the rules for all colors or all materials. That way when you hover over a bead, it only has to say the color and material, and there's a consistent place to look for the rules.

I think having a convention for how the rules are written would help with the readability too. For example:
(current rule for glass)-- "if a gemstone is placed between two glass beads on each side, all involved base points are multiplied by 2."

(alt format)--"2x base points to group when a Gemstone has 2 Glass beads on each side"

^the bolded words help identify the key points, and I think the 'effect first, then how to do it' formatting is a little more common and recognizable for roguelikes.

Some visuals would help even more! a low-budget way to show a chain like above in text could just be (OOXOO), where if you use it consistently 'X' is established to be the first property mentioned in the rule (gemstone). You already do something similar in some rules (ABCBA), I think it just needs to be used more regularly to stick in players' brains.

Great work again! Excited to see what you come up with for the next part of the jam :)

Awesome game, I really like the idea and the execution . In opposition of everyone else like the complexity, but the information could maybe be taught and presented in an easier to understand way.

I have some ideas that you can feel free to ignore:

There could be a tutorial that teaches you the mechanics by using them instead of just reading the instructions. Maybe have an almost finished pattern and have the player select the right bead to finish the pattern and then show the correct answer and why.

Since the colour rules seem to be the same for all colours maybe they should be shown separately from the bead information to mark them as more of a general rule instead of being bead specific (btw the last line of the colour rules is sometimes not visible). Also maybe add a visual example for the patterns with beads instead of letters.

I think it would be great if all current multipliers of a bead on the chain could be seen when hovering the bead, and maybe even what will happen before adding a specific bead.

When adding beads it could be helpful to show what beads you already have in the deck and the stats of the beads that will be added. Maybe consider renaming the deck to bag too since that makes way more sense.

Lastly, a bunch of people have made games with screenshot functionality that seem to be really well received it could be nice tho show a chain when it is done and allow the player to save a screenshot of it.

Again, great game, exited to see what you'll do in part two. (hopefully not make it too easy :)

Hello!

I didn’t understand the game even after reading the description. I’m with pijinguy that it may be too complex!

Maybe you can make it more simple for the next round!

Nice music and fun take on the bead making, having to make combo and deck building like style is a neat idea! Good job!

the music is nice and i enjoy the concept, but maybe make it a bit less complex, the average player will not want to read that much text

I really like the music, the art is very cozy, together they create a very soothing atmosphere :)

Feedback: for the next jam phase I'd suggest to reduce the complexity of the game. regardless I think there is too much reading for every bead, maybe consider a simpler system.
