Well done! I had a blast playing your entry :D

Was the game fun to play?

Yep an amazing experience. You had a lot of variarity with the mini-games which made it fun to keep playing.  I also really enjoyed the scoring system which made me want to get a perfect score each time.

I especially liked the football kick game where the comment changes based on how far you got!

You had a lot of little details which I enjoyed, I really liked the boulders that collided (instead of having them just pass through).

Did the game include the core elements from the original?

Totally, not much to say. It def feels like the original but with its unique characteristics.

Was there a clear path of progression?

Yep! It was really cool seeing the dragon grow up and you even included the ending which completed the loop.

How good was the audio and sound fx?

The audio fit well, really nice / clean and crips audio.

The UI sounds were really good imo, and the change of music added a lot to the feelings.

How well implemented was the UI?

The UI made a lot of sense and was very easy to understand.

The buttons looked good and the picture represented the action.

One of my favorites so far! I especially love the limited color palette.

I loved all the unique minigames and getting my legend status from reaching 100 kicks too.

I am going to try and get back at you!

Was the game fun to play

Yes, super fun! The colour choices, with the cute sprites made it feel all so wholesome! I have to say, I actually felt my heart sinking the moment I cracked the egg. Never expected that! What I found extra fascinating was the worldbuilding: rain (but later seeing the clouds), boulders colliding* (but later kicking the ball away), drumsticks (and later torching the birds, which was so cool to see the carcasses breaking down to drumsticks even, and interacting with physics). This loop around activities, the extra touches (the bush, cracking the egg, the interconnected world building, the colliding boulders, the kick) really made this shine! And the cute and wholesome round finishes with a hug, and then a new egg. Masterpiece.

*amazing idea and implementation by the way! How cool was that? And the SFX? Breaking the bones? wow

Did the game include the core elements from the original?

I would say yes, and I loved the extensions you went for! All themed around the dragon, and the "heat" mechanic was a nice alternative.

The streamlined narrative was a bit different than I expected, but nothing I can complain.

Having clear guidance on what to do took away a bit of the "maybe deadly consequences" vibe that tamagochi could harbour, but it was definitely fresh and cleanly done!  (now that I mention that, I would have liked a bit more of danger permitted, but I get 100% why you would allow for RETRYing and more support, especially in a game jam where I have killed countless tamagotchis so far, and restarted runs many times.

Was there a clear path of progression
The "eons" and "centuries" definitely seem like progression! Jokes aside, the changing sprite in the menu, the clear results after each action visually communicated to the player, were all great stuff!

!

How good was the audio and sound fx

All felt great! But as I mentioned the SFX above, the colliding boulders and the crunchy bones really were the highlight for me.

How well implemented was the UI

The UI was very clearly communicating everything, with the icons and supporting text, yet fitting with the clean world you created.

I am curious to hear why you decided to place the buttons where you did, e.g., laying egg down on the right, then all the others a bit random (would love to hear your choices and what plans you had basically. It felt so polished and deliberate, I only wonder what would feature creep was whispering to you)

Lol, I loved your detailed review! Once I've cleared a few more games from my list, I’m definitely diving back into yours to figure out those intricate puzzle designs, especially since I noticed you’ve posted explaining things a bit more now :)

Really glad that you picked up on the cycle of events in my story, I wasn’t sure anyone would notice that. I do like that bone crushing sound too, apparently it was made by someone crunching on a hard candy.

Regarding my UI, my thought was to split the screen, so left icons for eating and right icons for staying warm. Since an egg is warm when freshly laid I decided to put it with the other warmth based icons. The core loop of my game is a balance of hunger and warmth, where increasing one decreases the other, with happiness being the average of the two.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback!

Overall really fun mini‑games with a great art style and clean UI. You hit every voting criteria.

My only small critique is that a few of the games could’ve used a bit more challenge, and I found myself wishing I could choose the order of the minigames, though I get why you ordered it the way you did.

Fantastic work.

Great entry!

The rain lagged it out on firefox, but worked fine on Chrome.

I laughed so hard when I cracked my egg at the end of the find shelter minigame!

The sleeping task was pretty boring to me since there didn't seem to be any input.  I also would like to see some kind of gameplay effect for the stats.

The SFX and music was on point, and the whole aesthetic (including the resolution) was really well done, like production-level!

Nice work!

Im not the creator of the game.
But in generel firefox cannot run construct 3 games very well, it will get very laggy due to the engine itself and how firefox handles graphics.

I assume we're all here to improve, so this is just a recommendation for that.

When I start up Firefox and filter itch.io by Construct 3 games, all the ones I've tried so far work seamlessly, and nothing in the docs or forums I've seen indicate compatibility issues with Firefox (sorry if I missed this being documented somewhere as an issue).

I would start by looking into object pooling or similar patterns to reduce the number of objects or independent textures being created/destroyed every frame.

If you're sure Chrome is going to work fine, then while creating the project, I recommend you do all the testing in Firefox, and the first thing you add that makes it start lagging is where I recommend you start to optimize.

Reading my prior response made me realize how poorly it could come across.

I should clarify that I have no real idea why your game would work in other browsers or what the fix should be, my intention was to give an example of how I might approach the issue, short of changing engines.

Sometimes with text I assume my meaning may get across but miss an alternate interpretation, which in this case could be pretty condescending, sorry about that!

dont worry about it :) I just refrain from keep writing since it is not my game.

Very well made my favorite bit was that you took the player on the full journey through all features and giving a satisfying ending. It was so well done you could barely tell.

Storytelling is amazing. So fun to come full circle like that. I did find a few bugs but the game is so clean that I barely noticed them. Great job, as always you prove yourself to be a top contender.

Love the art style. The LCD colors are great. Loved the controller support, worked everywhere but the rain cloud hopping game. Great interpretation of the challenge. Loved it!
