How did you implement the Theme: Sea Witch in your game?
Our main character is a sea witch though she prefers the title of Wellwarden. She guards the Well of Well-being, which the adventurers need for its healing properties.
She lives on an island and is mostly friendly, but she takes her duty seriously and will only grant them the water if they pass her trials. As you find out, she has powerful magic and is not afraid to use it when required.
Did you implement any of the optional Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
We used Water of Life and Death and Renewing Tide. For the final one, there's no visible pirate ship, but there are pirates and the adventurers have a ship.
Another bonus challenge we gave ourselves was to create all the art and music ourselves, which we accomplished but it wasn't easy!

While it is short, the art is absolutely well made and makes it really worthwhile. I also LOVE the dousing cannon mechanic, it's a nice touch.
Tho it felt a bit awkward with how they treat the water's nickname, the characters themselves are uncertain of it. Still nice that I got to name it!
The custom sprites and music were really good. I also liked the combat, interactions like being able to put out the canon are always nice. I definitely wish it was longer, but what's there so far is fun!
Thanks for the feedback! Making all the art and music definitely slowed us down, but I'm sure we'll reuse them in the future to make longer games.
Loved the sprite work on this one, it really reminded me of the Game Boy Colour games and the music was catchy too!
I enjoyed the presentation of this game so much. Retro vibe with saturated colours especially, they're right on spot with this plot I think.
I only realised on my second playthrough that there are slight variations in story depending on how you play it... That's so cool.
Thanks for playing! We really wanted the game to adjust to any "failures" along the way — it's just another path. We had grand plans to make a lot more variations but had to cut scope to finish on time.
Really love all the art, especially the character sprites. Gives me massive Phantasy Star vibes.
The story, writing, atmosphere was all very well done.
Would dearly have loved it to be longer, but game jam games are supposed to be small, focused experiences so I understand the game length.
Really enjoyed this and I wish you the best in the jam :)
I'm glad you liked the art! It took up most of our time, which is why our game is quite short, but we are thinking of making a sequel or adding a longer story line.
