Bug: Bunnycorn essence doesn't boost Dodge Chance

Bug: If the browser window or tab are not in focus, the game will go into Offline mode. This makes it hard to play the game as an Idle game.

Linguistics: It's Tao and not Dao. A dao is a type of sword kind of similar to a saber. Tao, pronounced as Dao, is the correct spelling for The Way. (I've been a Taoist for over 30 years now.) I know a lot of English fansubbers/translators will often write it as Dao because of how it sounds, but you really do not want to confuse The Way with a simple sword. ;-)

Linguistics annoyance: If you see someone with the name Tao, it is probably pronounced tay-oh because the written characters are completely different from Tao, The Way. Since Mandarin had no written language originally and one got slapped together later on when the "commoners" finally got access to education. (And people wonder why Manhua/Donghua are so riddled with oppression tropes... :/)

Bug: Moon-touched Stag essence does not increase Hit chance.

Looks like whatever code makes Swiftness reduce Hit Chance and Precision reduce Dodge Chance is probably interfering with the bonuses granted by Bunnycorn and Moon-touched Stag.

Bug: Dire Bear essence does not increase Armor Penetration.

Bug: T3 Thunder Rush did not decrease my attack interval or give me more Hit Chance. (I  think t2 also didn't give me anything, but I forgot to look at my interval time before I leveled up to t2 and can't be sure.)

T4 also didn't add anything.

Hey, thanks again for all the feedback, I found the issue on this, it's display only and I will address it with the next patch (all of the issue reported)

Developer

Hey, thank you for reporting all this, let me have a look and push fixes in the next patch, I will keep you updated ! (and thank you for the explanation on Tao, I will admit that I heavily inspire myself from novels translatation)

They'll get it right eventually. Just like they eventually did with Qi, Gun (It means staff and doesn't actually mean a gun/firearm. :P ), Qilin, and a few others. :)

If you want to know more on Taoism without having to slog through boring books that are more step by step guides. Look for the 2 book compilation the Tao of Pooh and the Te of Piglet, written by the author of Welcome to Pooh Corner. It does a phenomenal job of explaining Taoism through well known characters and scenes. Granted the cultivation genre deviates heavily from it (It'd be a whole lot of people doing absolutely nothing and quite boring if it followed it fully.) but you can see where it pulls from the Philosophy and where it pulls from elsewhere when you know what Taoism and The Way is really like.

Mirroring most of Koitsu's posts.

Bugs: Bunnicorn, Treeent sapling, moontouched stag, and dire bear essences do nothing. Window goes into offline when not in focus.

Balance seems off. After several experimental rebirths everything does into vitality and resilience. I've given up on fighting and am relying on my eye of storm dao to kill anything that doesn't manage to kill me within 18 seconds.  Reached inner disciples while only at Organ refinement on rebirth 3 with this stupid yet effective build.

I had to reset saves before this twice due to the stat spreads I tried not being able to beat the wolves on floor eight by the time flesh remodling levels started taking 5-8 minutes to level up.

Developer

Yep, eye of storm is getting balanced next patch

Looking into patching the other issues this week end. All of them are display only and the Aspects bonuses are actually
properly used in combat

Good to know. Two more things, putting points in swiftness seems almost useless. Sure it raises your attack speed but it noticeably lowers you hit chance and if you put points into precision to offset that you loose the dodge chance you built up. So either you're abandoning landing hits for survivability or your paying 2 points for a tiny speed increase. Second turns out if you get enough pills the list goes off the screen making the bottom ones unselectable.

The record of what will soon be lost.

Developer

Yep, definitely did not intend for a build like this to be able to go this far. Thanks for sharing. (I do want this build to be used though, I think it's a fun tanky way of progressing)

A cap on the amount of doubles seems the most obvious solution. Worth noting that with the current way it's programed the first double happens before the first damage tick. (T3 says it's 15 then double but at 2 seconds enemy takes 30 and 4 they take 60,  and 6 they take 120 ect.)
Say... T1 gets 5 doubles. 5,10,20, 40, 80. Then it keep repeating 80 for that fight. That would be enough to tank build to reach the ents but past that you either need a lot more endurance or offsetting the needed damage with Might.
T2 might get 5-7 scaling. 10,20,40,80,160,320,640. At a cap of 7 You'll be able to kill everything in plane one if you can live 12 seconds. at 6 it will take 16-18s depending on the turtle's rarity.  on the other hand 5 will be almost useless for plane two because they heal roughly 60-70 per second meaning at max your dao might be only doing 20-40 damage that sticks every two seconds when ramped up which means pure tank would have to survive for well over a minute to win any battle there.

Also currently once you are on plane two enemy damage scales a lot faster than their health. I need somewhere between 120-126 in both  resilience and vitality to beat any vagabonds but once I can it's enough durability to reach floor 30 with a 1/3 chance of beating each enemy regardless.

Developer

I'll be adding something like this with next patch

Attribute choice is probably pretty Path dependent. For Thunder Rush, I have to go Might and Vitality until they both get to 300 and then I can shift my focus over to Swiftness and Precision. Most of the focus is on precision once my attack interval drops to 0.7 or so.I also will drop10pts into Resilience whenever I can, but even at 40%. Crits tend to do me in pretty quickly.

i know you say that theres a possibility of save reset during updates, but my man it ruines the game for me. it's not very fast paced you know and i sank like a day of progress before update only to went back to start from nothing next day. game seems promising

or at least make it possible to backup the save

Developer(+1)

I’m going to make the save process more robust and include some failsafes to avoid that in the future. Thinking about being able to export/import saves too

(1 edit)

please do, 2nd day in the row with new save) and its very frustrating

Are you using Brave as your browser?

Developer

That’s strange, I haven’t released anything over the last couple of days. I’m going to add export/import but can you tell me which browser and OS you are on?

Balance issue: There is a Body Cultivator that can't be killed at all if you are on a pure melee path like Thunder Rush. Their Flat Armor and Damage Resistance has me only able to do 1 damage even when when I crit. There is also another Body Cultivator that I can only do 1 damage from normal attacks and 52 damage from crits. I have 300 might with a t3 wolf aspect. The 2nd one is also impossible to kill because they just end up regenerating the very little damage I can do with an attack interval of 0.53sec. (I used to think the Tortoise and Treant saplings were bad with their 40-50% damage reduction. :/ )

Developer

What are your stats like?  Something that I didn't find a good way of making apparent in the game yet is that you have multiple rarities for opponents (with different loot table) so if you get a Legendary Body Cultivator and you haven't done all your body rebirth (to get 10 stats) you probably will be tight in some fights

Qi Gathering - 56th Meridian and working towards the 11th Rebirth that needs 150 impurities. :D

I spent the last 10 hours farming Core Disciples for spirit stones and got quite a lot of levels. I'm pretty much at 300 points into everything since that seems to be when diminishing returns on stat points really kicks in hard. (20pts in might only gave me 4.4 more damage.)
