I made it! But only 1 person arrived with 1% health so everyting did indeed go wrong.

You set up a lot of events which is pretty good. I also like the work you put in the UI to be dynamic and store all necessary info, although it took a moment to know what I had to do at first.

Developer

Thanks, glad you made it to the end!

I did spend a while on the final day trying to make enough events, and making the randomizer to ensure they repeat less often, so glad it worked!

And I am glad the UI was effective, I have struggled with it before so I am glad it did its job!

Amazing idea carried out nicely with minimalistic art which goes perfect with the vibe.

Developer

Thanks so much!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Cool game. I kept dying though, I wish there was a bit more strategy and agency. I did have some funny moments where I lost all my medicine day 2, and then it turns out I could still give medicine for free in events because there wasn't actually a check, with me ending the journey with about -20 medicine. (That probably didn't help me, though, I died at 280 meters.)

Developer

Thanks!

Yeah I do agree about the lack of choice, and definitely will try and update it to add some more choice each day after the jam.

And I was aware of no checks for having items, but I didn't want there to be a chance an event could happen with no valid choices, so I chose to allow for negative items instead since you can still progress opposed to possibly soft-locking.

Just want to mention my final successful run was... intentionally letting two of my men get shot by bandits. I'm not sure what the lesson is here, other than sacrifice your people to save resources?

Developer

Ah, I had forgot to update the casualty count from losses from events. Will work on the fix!

This is such a charming game! A very well developed project that was very enjoyable.

Developer

Greatly appreciated! Glad you liked your time with it!

Solid five stars here.

Very good concept in the game, and the presentation was on point.

Some of the things are a litle to hard to read but was ok most of the time, congrats on your game mate.

Developer

This is amazing to hear, thanks so much!

It means a lot that you think so highly of it!

Submitted

Wow, you were really very creative here. What a well-developed idea!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it!

At first I didn't see I could micro manage every member, it was way more difficult πŸ˜„Very brave choice of style, but I think you did really well, the game is great !

Developer

Thanks so much!

I wasn't sure if the style would be a hit with everyone, but I am glad people have liked it!

Very impressive for a jam game! A lot of typos given the heavy story focus, though.

Developer

Thanks!

And yeah sadly missed many of the typos, hopefully I can fix them afterwards.

Submitted

A lot of work went into achieving this result, well done!

Developer

Thanks! I did put a lot of work into it.

insanely impressive for a game made in 3 days.
honestly speechless

Developer

Thanks!

I spent nearly all of my time in the 3 days on it so I am glad it was worth it!

Love that game a lot ! πŸ’–πŸ˜Šβœ¨
Its concept is super interesting and well implemented.
Also the theme is really nicely thought out.
I just had a little bit of trouble with the font because it is not the easiest to read and it is sometimes super small.
Fantastic job overall ! 🌈

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!

I have heard of other people having issues with the font, so I may update it in the future or find a standard font and make it a setting to swap to a more readable one. But glad that didn't stop you from enjoying it!

Cool game ! I like the art. It was fun to play but I think it lacked a bit of agency and analysis, it mostly felt like a math optimisation and hoping things go well. I ended with 2 lost travelers and for one I did not really get why he died. The font is a bit tiring to read for a game that is text heavy.

Developer

Understandable, If I were to update it a bit thing would be deciding before you set out what type of resource to get so there is more choice, and I do agree the font could sometimes be a bit tough to read.

But glad you enjoyed it despite that! Thanks.

Seeing this type of game on jams are really rare and i really had fun playing it broooo great work

Developer

Thanks so much!

Glad you enjoyed playing it!

Really nice game ! Don't usually see retro style for a text based game, it was really unique. I wasn't abe to get more medicine in any events though. I managed to finish with 2 casualties 😭😭

Developer

Thanks, I tried to make it distinctive visually!

Yeah except for the events that can give random I never made any events that give meds, but only 2 casualties isnt too bad!

This is insane for a game made in a jam! It's incredibly impressive how you managed to make such a complex game in such a short time. I had a lot of fun with it. One thing I was confused about was the effects of happiness, as even though it says it makes bad things less likely to happen, and I remained with a "Happy" overall mood for most of the game, there were still very negative events happening pretty much every day, with extremely few positive outcomes. I suppose if good events were more likely it'd go a bit against the whole everything going wrong idea haha, but I think it'd be nice to have at least a bit more positive events and a little more agency when it comes to resource aquisition, maybe by providing some way of trading resources (maybe having a currency you could spend to get resources sometimes would be nice). I was robbed of all of my medicine pretty much immediately in a random event and didn't get any at all throughout the rest of the run, and ended up failing just 30 meters away from the destination when all 4 of my surviving members died all at once in a wolf attack haha, so something like that would be really nice to offset the RNG a bit. Overall though, this is a great game I could totally see being expanded to a full product I'd spend many hours on! Great stuff :3

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I did have one sleepless night trying to put this all together!

Yeah there is 2-3 events that require a lower level of happiness (To do with people in the group fighting each other) but never ended up taking it much further.

I did want to add more options but sadly the time got me there, I did think of doing an event where you could trade with people but my even system only allowed for 1 'thing' to happen at a time (So I could take away something or add something, not both at once), but if I were to keep going that would be high on the priority list!

Thanks again, very glad you see potential in it!

Submitted

Wow! This is very impressive. Could spend a lot of time on this.

Developer

Thanks so much!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Nice retro styled game! I really like it!

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

I put a lot of effort into the styling of it so glad it has been appreciated.

Made it to my destination... with 1 survivor... and they weren't part of the original caravan! Fun game, nice music!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks!

Good the stranger wasn't a thief then!

Submitted

Loved the game! Died 9 meters short of getting to my destination!  Really good resource managing game! Liked the events and the overall theme! This could easily be a Steam game with more work and expansion of the concepts presented!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks so much!

I put a lot of time into it so I am glad it was well spent!
