Hi!

I'm glad you liked it :>

This is cute!

I think it definitely has a lot of potential! I think it would be nice to add a sound effect when the player reaches population milestones.

Right now the game doesn't end after supposedly maxing out the map... apparently some tilespaces are not fully visible to the player (i.e. off-screen, underneath text), but are still clickable. I  recommend making a more defined boundary to prevent this from happening in the future.

I'm definitely interested in seeing where you go with this!

Pretty cool concept for the jam’s theme! I really love the cute theme music <3 I think the game could use a bit more development, though. For example, when the player is in debt, adding some kind of risk or pressure would make it more engaging and make the player feel like they’re actually in danger.

Cool idea, pretty cosy feel, seems that there's no fail state, i just end up stuck with no money, and some sort of obstacale like people leaving would have gone a long way, but a real nice cosy game so far

I like the artwork for the various buildings and structures. The game play was straightforward and I found it relaxing to chill out to for about 15 minutes or so. The audio and sound effects go nicely with the theme.

I think the only thing I'm left wanting, is a bulldoze feature so I can get out from under my financial burden of building too many schools, or maybe just to rework my town some.

Hi! I'm glad you liked it :>

I wanted to make it feel like the map's getting smaller with every building, so I didn't thought a bulldoze tool, but now that you brought it up I'm thinking about making a tool that can disable buildings so you don't have to pay for them, and maybe having to pay to re-open them, thanks for the feedback!

I liked the government bailout you implemented to help me keep my head above water, that was quirky and fun, and worked well as an alarm that I need to recalibrate quickly. The disable tool you describe would definitely empower the player to start rethinking their choices over a longer recovery term. I like it.

Now that you mention your motivation for not adding a bulldoze, I like that too. It's probably just decades of playing other city builders that my brain automatically expects or even wants that ability. Could be an opportunity for some lore or flavor text to highlight that constraint as a feature.

not bad game just a bit lifeless

Thanks for playing! I'm planning on adding people that move around as the population grows, more variations to buildings and other things, thanks for the feedback :>
