I liked it! It has a very casual and cozy feel, and the music fits nicely.

It could be improved with some text/icons to show objectives, things collected, tree level number, perhaps even x/y coordinates so I can plan my falls with precision.

I really enjoyed this game!

Loved the music, especially the flutes... definitely brought a lot of charm! The gameplay is very interesting, I especially liked the idea of falling onto lower branches to revisit previous levels.

The puzzles are pretty challenging. The sticks being one-use-only definitely added to the challenge!

I recommend adding an indicator to help the player keep track of the number of each item in possession.

Thanks so much! As soon as I am able, I will update the game to include counters as I love that idea.

I love the puzzles and "have-to calculate-before-making-every-decision" core of the game. It's a fun and challenging concept.

However, the click-and-point movement doesn’t feel like it fits the game very well. Because the pathfinding isn’t very reliable, when you click the wrong spot, the player dies and immediately continue at the starting point with no real consequences. Because of that, it ends up being more frustrating than challenging.

I think using keyboard controls (like arrow keys for movement and space to interact) might work better. It would give the player more precise control and make the gameplay feel more comfortable.

Aside from that, I think the game is solid. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your feedback. The click-and-point movement is a default setting in the game engine I used, so I overlooked it when playtesting and only tested the keyboard controls. I'll try to remove it in the next iteration of the game.

I was a little lost at first, but eventually I figured it out and beat it! I loved the music, and it was satisfying once I started mapping out the tree in my head. I'd like to see a little more clarity, like an indicator on which floor I'm on, or a visual to let me know I'm able to climb to the next floor. I enjoyed figuring out where the branches overlapped and figuring out where to drop down to the previous floor. Well done!

Thanks so much!

Well, it's a very child's game) I would have liked it when I was 5 years old)

This game is really cute. I liked the vibe and music.

I can't keep the branch patterns of the above layer in mind so it would be cool if you saw the shadow of the branches above which would give you hints about how you needed to fall down to get the items.

Developer

I like the idea of shadows, so I'll possibly add those in the future. Thanks for the comment!

I was impressed by the use of RPGMaker, and your music was pleasant and added to the experience, but the gameplay left much to be desired. The movement felt unresponsive, and having to fall off branches to reach unobtainable items means a lot of trial and error. As for suggestions, perhaps a way to preview the branches below so there's less guesswork, and also a tally for the current number of berries/acorns you have.

Hope my game is fun! Good luck everybody!
