Great gameplay loop and i like the colors, controls could use some work :P

Great game, the only complain i have is the tongue, sometimes isnt' responsive to controls, but it's a gorgeous game, with a solid gameloop

Developer

Thank you!!

It was a really fun game, I appreciate the guide at the beginning, made it much easier to grasp what's going on. I generally liked the controls, but I really couldn't figure out the aim after many tries, it sometimes went into unexpected directions.

The ant behavior was unexpected, because they followed very distant routes, so for example if I wanted to catch one on the right side behind the tree, there was no way I would get the one that went around the pond. I did see that the duck periodically stuns them, but even that wasn't enough for me. Maybe I'll try to recruit everyone as soon as possible next run. So back to the ants, I noticed on the first run that I had only one food left and the best strategy was just to keep it for myself and wait for the ants to return and end the wave. Otherwise, when I had multiple, it felt a bit unrewarding to return the stolen food from afar, because 3-4 ants already circled the basket like vultures and as soon as I put the food in there, they'll jump on it.

I loved the audio, the music and effects really fit the game well and contributed to the goofy experience.

Overall, it felt like a well polished and fun little game, maybe with little need to fine-tune the difficulty, or maybe I'm just bad at it :) For a first time jammer and solo, you can be really proud of this one, because it didn't feel like a jam game, but more like an old-school flash browser game.

Thank you so much, it means a lot! Yes, holding a single food it's kinda of a strategy that makes it way easier to win. You end with only 1 food left but still, a win is a win).

The style is awesome ! The touch of humour is refreshing
Aiming correctly ants feels difficult at first, put manageable after some tries
Thank you for this game !

Really fun! The mechanic of making friends with the other creatures was inspired, it's really endearing and rewarding, and the music choice was perfect too. Good stuff :)

Developer

Thank you, glad you like it!!

This game is a lot of fun. I love both the art style and the sound effects. The gameplay isn't too difficult and offers a nice variety. Also, the UI looks amazing.

I like the art, sfx and music and this is a pretty cool take on the theme, however there are some tiny problems which set it back. First is that I feel like an anteater should be able to eat ants lol, lemme devour those annoying bastards that keep stealing my food. You'd have to redesign the whole tower defence thing to work this in but I think it'd be way cooler/on theme.

A little bug (hehe) I found, clicking on ants to get the food back is very inaccurate, I need to be like right near the ant to get it back

Developer(+1)

Yes, in early development you could just eat them and it was very easy, so I made the limitation to balance it. The aiming is the major problem everyone is having, I'm sure I can make some improvements in the future! Thank you for the feedback and for playing it!

Submitted(+1)

I love this south park style! Also game is pretty balanced. The only thing I didn't like is that tongue comes not from middle of a screen, and sometimes you cant just point to ants and catch them.

Developer

Oh wow, it really does look a lot like South Park (was not intentional lol). Yeah, the tongue gets time to get used to. Thank you for the feedback and for playing it!

Super cute, loved the anteater! Great challenge too, I had to lock in near the end to win...

loved the artwork.  difficulty ramped up a bit too quickly for me but that's probably a skill issue on my part.

not to sound weird, but I found myself trying to lick the duck and the woodpecker, could be funny to have them react when you try to do that.

Developer

Thank you! I like the idea, agree it would be really funny.

Love the cool funky artwork, the tutorial screen was very fun. This is a really well executed, simple game, and the aiming and amount of ants made it challenging enough that I stayed consistetly engaged! I like the concept overall and the ability to engage the other animals.

Aiming felt quite hard to start with because it was hard to conceptualize in my head where the tongue was coming from, but I got better at this, and it added a nice skill curve!

Was the yellow at the top meant to be a progress bar? That's definitely a small thing that would have added a little extra information - knowing how much time was left in a wave would have been nice.

Fantastic job!

Developer

Glad you like it! I agree that the wave progression could have been better comunicated, basically a new wave starts when all ants are gone for the current one. Thanks for the feedback and for playing it!

Funny sound effects and that billboard / cutout artstyle was well done

Developer

Thank you for playing, glad you liked it!

So fun! And surprisingly challenging!

The art style is absolutely perfect, very simple and stylized but very consistent even in the UI. Really good job, congrats! The waves felt very fair, not too hard and not too easy, even with the help of the other animals.

One very very minor point in the controls if that it didn't feel intuitive to have to press space to take the food from the cardinal. Everytime  I'd try to get it with my tongue and then I'd go "oh yeah, it's space". But that's a very small thing and I still completed the game.

Very well made, good job!

Developer(+1)

I got that feedback of taking the food from the animals with the tongue (sometimes even I try to do it lol) and its super valid, probably woulda implemented it if I had more time. Thank you so much for playing, glad you liked it!

I really enjoyed playing your game! Reminded me of Bloons TD in the slightest. I realy like your cover and tutorial artstyle, I wish you had made the game look like that by making the grass a one color texture.  I would have personally liked that I think. The Ant paths being drawn on the ground is also cool.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Background is always a challenge for me, I'm trying diferent approaches so it does not feel flat/difficult to distinguish from the gameplay.
