Beat game in this jam in my opinion, there is A a nothing I can say about this game but guys good job. I enjoyed every minute I played Disrepair.. the gameplay the graphics and sound tracks its just a 5/5 game.

Very well polished metroidvania! I like that it feels like a fever dream lore-wise, mechanically bubble fish was a bit too hard of a difficulty spike for me. Other than that amazing game, wishlisted your steam game but this one also deserves a full release :)

hmm I don't understand

how can I jump higher on sewer level?

I've defeated and get blue piece and I can't get red piece anywhere

The only place I haven't explored are sewer area but it softlocked me because I can't jump higher?

it sounds like you got stuck next to the big generator, if you whack the big box with the black outline it comes alive!

if not it would be really cool if you could give us a screenshot of where you got stuck, so we can make more clear what you need to do in the future!

thank you for the hint ^^

I didn't expect that it was boss battle X"D

I thought it was a wall all along

I finally beat the game in 22:26 XD

Very impressive game!

Wow- cool art and sfx! I got a bit of a Cave Story vibe from this. I can't believe how expansive this game is for a jam, enemy variety and map size were crazy! Well done!

It took me a while to figure out that you could click to attack which may have colored my opinion a little bit, I eventually saw the help in the background but I think it could have stood out more. I also just had trouble in general figuring out what was background vs. the foreground sometimes.

I got a bit annoyed having to crouch to pick up the currency- I'm not sure it added much over just auto-picking it up when you were close. It didn't seem like you'd ever not want to pick it up?

Overall really impressive work!

I agree that crouching to grab the money is a little annoying, I like it as an extra task to fill space! In between navigating the level and fighting the enemies, we don't have a lot extra for you to do. No health potion to drink, no background elements to break, no dashes to chain. Interacting with the currency is a cheap way for us to ask you to touch an extra button on your keyboard and break up your movement! That's my reasoning at least, I think it's funny for the runtime of the game. But it's definitely less practical in a larger scale project.

Thanks for playing!

I though this would be another simple Metroidvania, but eggs and crabs beat me up in the early game. Most areas were so difficult, but it was that the way to deal with most enemies Weren't just run and attack. I completed the game with some collectables, the game was very nice, and polished.

I don't have much to say, but the art is soo goood! The game in general is so well polished actually, keep it up!

Impressive jam entry !!!!!! Doing a metroidvania is no small feat !!!!!!!!! It was very pleasing to delve in the atmosphere of the game.

I don't think I got 100% completion:

Was this game really made during this game jam? It is a very well-crafted, polished game with good visuals, plus the map has a considerable size. It even has a boss battle. So far, it's the most professional-looking game I've played in this jam, and I don't think there's going to be another one as polished as this. Great job!

Thanks! This game was made during the jam, and all the assets too! We've been using love2d to make jam games for a long time, and have a lot of special built tools for making games like this. I have all the code on hand for collisions, animation, dialogue, camera, lighting etc.

From day one I was able to start coding and animating the first enemy (the cardboard box crab) and R.B. was able to start building a tileset and sketching out a map. We enjoy doing game jams, and I always keep an eye out for ways I can simplify our workflow in the future!

| I don't think I got 100% completion ; you have 9/12 normal crayons :)

there are 12 normal crayons in the game, 3 of each of the colors! (and maybe a secret color of crayon that adds up to 15 total)
you don't get anything for 100%ing the game, as much as a little dialogue would have been nice ; you do however get to see of the flowers by the butler bloom and the knowledge that you found them all..

| Was this game really made during this game jam? ; YES !

me and inkspinner spent as much time as possible working on it like we usually do for these jams!
(we do have quite a bit of experience with these by now, and do take them pretty seriously)
i do spritework and map stuff while ink does all the coding, sound, and animated stuff...
usually in these jams i have more time to relax.... but this one had sooo many assets to work on and so many places to fill with stuff, that there was very little time to waste! definitely the biggest most messy tilesheet and map i've made to date haha..

the ending scene was completely made a few hours before deadline even... stage dinosaur wasn't in place until the second to last day.. (the stage does look a bit barebones waa >.< )

we also did have a few tester friends help us by playing through the game on the last couple days so we could get feedback which helped smooth out some areas where players might get confused, give better feedback on things that were missed, and let us balance the enemies a bit... which was really important i think!

there was a lot we wanted to do with this game, one of the main goals was to make a game with a lot of enemies and things to run around and interact with, we felt we were pushing it, but we didn't know by how much haha, maps in these kinda games are big!
( we originally wanted to make a castle area!!... we originally wanted to make a boss at the end after/before the connect four game... we originally wanted the crayons to buy weapon upgrades... and i think we wanted more creatures too.. no time for any of that!!! )
but we got there in the end, cutting whatever we didn't feel necessary to make the game work!

thank you for playing !

What can I say, this game is beautiful. The style is well put together and the audio matches well. Great job!
