Ooh I really like how tactile the UI for this is. I didn’t entirely understand what I was doing–my shift slowly drifted out of sight, and I’m not 100% sure if my missiles hit anything–but I had a lot of fun twiddling with all the levers and dials! Great use of the theme!
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, this version was definitely a bit lacking, but I'm glad you still enjoyed fiddling with it!
Really intrigued by all of this. i love ui detective games and having a stack of files to sift through and nondescript knobs to figure out is so enticing. Great set up, and kind of wildly ambitious for a jam, would be very interested to play a fleshed out version of this ✨ hope you enjoyed the jam!
Thanks for the kind words! It's good to know that even though the project was incomplete, the basic idea still came across and was interesting to you. I've been plugging away at the project ever since the jam finished, and I just got around to releasing a complete version! If you're still interested in playing through it, you can find it here: https://mr-dr-bean.itch.io/pythagoras. Any comments on the new version are appreciated, but no pressure. Thanks again for your feedback during the jam!
Really loved the games style and art - really atmospheric and unique. It was fun working out what to do with all of the buttons and switches, the terminal in the middle is a really nice touch and brought me into the experience a lot. Also didn't realise you used real images from NASA that's sick! Great work :)
Many thanks! It's heartening to see how many people enjoyed the concept I put out, even if it was unfinished.
I'm not usually into games that require this level of fiddling, but I found myself really enjoying the experience of exploring the interface, reading the documents and just trying things out. It was quite satisfying when I drilled and found an artifact exactly where I thought I should! Very cool entry!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I really like how navigation and exploring is done! I also like how you can set waypoints, but if you don't manage the speed well you can overshoot and then orbit around the target point.
I only managed to get the treasure in the SOH region. One thing that I was having trouble with was the CAH region treasure. It's kind of hard to measure 90 deg from theta off your radars on the left since it doesn't give a precise measurement of where theta is to you. I kept missing my 100 units from the crater.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the exploration!
Yeah, it's not super clear right now, but Station Theta is supposed to be at the center of the crater. To get your heading to the station, you just have to set your target position to (0,0). Thanks for the feedback, and sorry it kept you from finding the treasure. I'll be sure to clarify the station's position in the final version.
the console looks amazing, even tho hard to wrapped my head around everything that's going on and how to go about. but really cool to navigate, managed to drill something and destroy something with the missile.
will love to see how this develops and becomes a full thing. defo missing some sound to give it even more ambience and blips.
Thanks! Yeah, it's a bit lifeless without audio at the moment. I'm excited to add that in!

It took me a while to understand how it worked and what I was supposed to do, but after spending some time with it, I eventually figured it out!
I really loved the interface! And vibe-wise, it reminded me of Voices from the Void! I’m a bit sad to hear you didn’t manage to finish it, and I hope you’ll be able to complete it after the jam. That said, I understand it’s a bigger project than what the jam timeframe allows.
Maybe for a future build you could add a tutorial! it would be really appreciated.
Great job, keep it up!
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the basic idea. I definitely agree that the current implementation throws a lot at the player all at the beginning, and I'm planning on introducing the mechanics a bit more gradually in the final version.
The interface is awesome, it looks really polished and well put together. Honestly, it feels like a project that’s way too big for such a short game jam. It’s really cool overall, though I do wish it had some music and sound effects.
Thanks! I definitely plan on giving the audio some TLC for the final version. My hope is that it will help complete the atmosphere and give the gameplay a bit more punch, even with the static interface.
Extremely cool! Even if it’s not finished there’s a lot going on.
Thanks! Yeah, it's a bit overwhelming at the moment, lol, but I'm hoping to do a better job of easing in mechanics in the final version.
Nice game! Gave me Iron Lung vibes with setting things up then drilling blindly. Could use more instructions on what everything meant (unless I missed it). Great job!
Thanks! I totally agree that the game's direction is a bit lacking at the moment. I'm hoping to improve upon this in the near future!
Really interesting project! May I ask what your inspiration was? I'm a bit curious on what direction you were thinking of taking this in. As in, something hyper realistic or.. more abstract. If that makes sense.
Thanks! I've always enjoyed games with puzzles/exploration that require some logical inference and experimentation. I love the feeling of discovery you get as you learn how the game works, and I wanted to try and capture that here! I don't think I quite achieved that goal, since I didn't get to implement all the mechanics I had envisioned, but I'm hoping I can still get there with a little more work. As for the overall direction, I'd like things to be grounded in realism but also explore some more imaginative themes (e.g., hunting for treasure in outer space!).
I'd love to see that if you continue to work on this. It's a really interesting theme. Like you mentioned, I like how you incorporated the puzzle theme into this more realistic interface. The imaginative theme would be an excellent touch.
Thanks! Hopefully it won't be too long before I get all the remaining pieces stitched together. Stay tuned!

Really cool project. You can tell a ton of thought went into it, and the PDFs helped a lot with understanding how everything worked. I liked the variety of enemy types and all the detail packed into the different tabs and systems. Nicely presented game and it was neat poking through and figuring everything out.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, even if it's a bit janky at the moment. I definitely want to redesign the pdfs and introduce them a bit more gradually, but I'm glad you found them helpful still!
I love this. Even though its unfinished, I can tell this is just my cup of tea.
I hope you manage to work on it after the jam. I would love to try it out.
Thanks! Hopefully it won't be too long before I'm able to finalize everything.

I like the design. I don't fully understand what all the options are supposed to do and a short explanation of what the idea was would've been helpful. Overall, it looks promising and I'd love to play it if/when you finish it.
Yes, I agree that there isn't enough instruction/direction at the moment. That's something I hope to fix as I finish it!

Oh this is SO COOL! I love the presentation and mechanics. And it works really great once you get it figured out. There's a lot of detail in here actually. The main map tab, the sensor tab, power, hull, and fuel all functional. All the treasure maps in the intel page and having the mathematical maps to each special location on the treasure maps. The visuals for all the machines and tabs are clean and clear. Very usable once you've figured out how it all works. I'm kind of crazy about this, it's super cool. It's a really neat "pull out a pen and paper and do some math and take notes" type game. The way the text announces enemies and if your missiles hit is great feedback while you're navigating around and looks and feels really cool too. The game overall has a great analog feel. I love the target, distance, and heading function for moving around. It's super useful for navigation and also for locating new points using pythagorean theorems. It works really great with the whole Pythagoras theme, which is charming, if not a little Math Circus-y. It's cool enough that it escapes the stigma that 'Educational Games' have.
The only thing I'd say is that I'd point new players towards the Intel tab a bit more when it starts so that they can get some instructions as it isn't immediately clear that it's an informational tab. I'd love to see how it looks when it's done!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm a little sad that I wasn't able to finish the project within the deadline, so it means a lot to me that you could still recognize and appreciate the vision that I had for it. :)
I agree that the intel tab could use some work. In its current state, it's an egregious info dump, and it's unclear at first how important it is to the rest of the gameplay. In the final build, I'm hoping to introduce the intel more gradually and revise some of the more text-heavy entries so they're more digestible.
Again, thanks for the encouragement and feedback! I'll post another reply here when the game is finished so you can experience the full thing.
