Notes from gameplay:

  • The bird sounds are very well done. My cats are going wild :P
  • Nice addition of including an icon for the game for my taskbar! Such a little detail which really enhances polish
  • The splash screen is nice. It's simple, but the font choices and the button shape prime me for something artsy, heartfelt and handmade
  • The scribble behind the play button when clicked is a great detail
  • Oh, what a fun concept, just clicking to have the world unfold. Maybe consider alternative button controls if you expand out this design to make longer content like this, as holding down a mouse button can strain the hand
  • The art style is beautiful!
  • I love how the text panels hang in the air. The sense of depth is awesome!
  • I wonder if it might feel a bit better visually if the text boxes veer outwards as the player walks past them, instead of obscuring the screen, if that makes sense? Like make it feel like we're walking past the text, not through it
  • Oh no, I'm worried about Sam :(
  • The forest fading away into just bits and pieces and then white was effectively done
  • Click through comic reveal, also well done.
  • OH NO, now I'm REALLY WORRIED about Sam!
  • Great job hooking us emotionally so quickly!
  • The zoom in clickable panel being in the top right is a little confusing as far as story flow goes
  • Why do the other hedgehogs seem happy?
  • I clicked on the bracelet and clicked through the panes and a hedgehog left and now Jodie has said sam! but can't figure out how to advance
  • Alt tabbed to come type this and the game restarted to the main menu
  • Tried a second playthrough and got stuck in the same spot

Absolutely beautiful art and what a creative concept with the opening sequence. I would love to see a game focusing around gameplay like the starting forest scene! Nice work and very creative!

That cinematic you made is amazing. The perspective you used at the start of the gameplay really impressed me. I love the mix of 3D with sprites—it works really well. You absolutely nailed it. Congrats!

Congrats on the submission...!

  • Loved the interaction scheme.
  • The opening scene was really cozy and beautiful!
  • The artwork with the paint brush strokes, so gorgeous! I don't play much cozy games but would love to play a relaxing or casual game like this with 3rd person perspective and with this art! Great job!
  • Unfortunately, me too ran into the bug everyone is talking about? When I interact with the necklace, the game throws me back to the main screen. Due to this I sadly was unable to see the whole picture that you were trying to paint and the future you were trying to convey.

Would love to see how this develops outside of the jam as for sure it is intriguing and loving the art style!

love the brush textures in the first scene and walking thru the trees! it felt very cozy. also loved the little bird noises and the sound design

however, i was about confused about who Jodie was plus how this relates to sustainable futures. the main thing i came away with was that we should be driving less cars to reduce accidents like these. plus, i agree that it was a bit unclear what to do when it came to the car crash scene

Gorgeous entry, never seen something like the opening scene before, well done!

The interactivity tricks you found are nice, but sadly, I was stuck after retrieving the necklace, when the character is shouting? In what seems to be a very sad scene. I wasn't able to go further.

Hmm, can't install this via the sandbox, and trying manually gave me a security threat alert...

The first scene walking through the forest is breathtaking!! Please make a whole game in this style, I've never seen anything like it!
