WebXR has left eye flickering in some distant place and Windows download reports a virus, I wonder what's causing it.
Hello, I had a warning for the webxr problem but I removed the web folder today so I don't know if played it earlier or if something went wrong.
A lot of projects have the windows defender popup in the jam. I think it's because the export was not well setup so the app is not signed for windows.
The full project is available to download if want to check malicious code, I can ensure there is none.
WebXR can indeed be hit and miss, it depends a lot on the browser and on your graphics card. Godot requires multiview support and that isn't working properly everywhere.
As for the windows defender error, it's likely a false positive but I highly recommend scanning your HD just to be safe.
Nice work. I also had trouble with the dog physical movement and jumping, where the jump would send me backwards sometimes and the paws would barely move me. I was still able to complete the puzzles at least. Also had some problems where I started the game on the other side of the second door, I guess because I was standing too far away from center of playspace, and the key inside the lock box with the battery fell through the floor endlessly. Still a good synthesis though.
Hello thanks for trying my game. I just updated it with requested features and fixes. It should now be easier to move around, pickable object float when released so it prevents accident like going through the floor and the UI no longer follows the camera.
really cool idea for the theme , was a nice vibe playing the game but i got stuck after freeing the dog , couldnt fit into the hole normally but if i entropied the dog smaller the controls stopped working when i swapped to the dog , tried a few times
the UI follownig the player was a bit jarring , maybe thees a nicer solution to it
Hello thanks for your feedbacks. When the dog is smaller, his paws are also smaller which means you need to go lower to touch the ground. Be carefull to have one paw at a time on the ground for smoother movement.
Hello I just updated the game, the UI no longer follows the camera, the dog should be easier to control and the objects float when released to prevent going through floor if you want to try again.
Congrats for finising the entry and for a good idea !
I couldn't get far after I freed the dog. I could not turn with the dog (as the robot could) aside of physically turning my body which was frustrating.
I tried going through the ground level hole after shrinking the dog a little and I could not get it to move or jump so I was stuck there.
Menus following the head are not usually the way to go,
Having a pause menu on button B was interrupting (also the pointer was hidden in menu mode which made it even more frustrating)
The game lacks a clear indication that each hand has a different role (I got a forward icon on both hands)
I would gladly play it again once it's fixed !
hi I'm working on an update that would solve some issues that has been raised, notably the UI stuff I wasn't aware it was that much of an issue. Having "forward" on both hand is clearly a bug, left hand is "backward". It's true that the pointer when controlling the dog is kept hidden, I'll try to show it.
hi I just updated the game if you want to try again
I liked the puzzling nature of the game and found it to be well designed and not too straightforward. I think the graphics needed more continuity and less blend of different styles. The dog is pretty hard to control, and definitely needs some polish. I also think it was hard to tell what you could fit through as the dog since its view was set so low. I also didn't really like the UI following your head and found it quite nausea inducing. I think the snapzones of the objects that use them should have been set to Range instead of Drop because it was kind of difficult to get them to work sometimes. I think the idea of the game was really unique and it contributed greatly to the fun factor. Overall a good concept with good puzzle design that could have used some for polish.
Hello thanks for your review. The graphics are blocs built with CSG and assets like characters and props are free models I took on the internet, that explains the clash between the differents styles.
The dog was the hardest part of this project, I made the movement system myself and it wasn't easy to tune it well, and the camera wouldn't go where I wanted to, I think it's because the XRPlayerBody is made to have a certains capsule size and making it too low probably induce some bugs. So the camera is basically always on the floor unfortunately.
I'm glad you still liked it.
