Really cool and polished puzzle game where you can rewind time to prevent all the disasters happening around the town! The chrono crank felt really, really good to use with the haptics, audio, and those gears. Rewinding time also felt really powerful.
Regarding issues below me, I played the windows version using Steam Link and I did have issues trying to start it up the first time. However, all I had to do was close the game and reopen it, and it worked.
In any case, great job on this game!
Somehow I did not notice that the fence is actually a ladder, I kept rewinding stuff like a maniac inside the church matching up the clocks on the crank and the wall. Nice touch of VA, kept trying to rewind myself, but didn't manage to. Solved the puzzles. Short, simple, and fun, great game!
Played the windows binary, everything worked for me.
I don't know what I'm supposed to do, I rewind the stuff but then the fire, the death and the explosion still happen.
Events will play out the same unless you change something. Did you see the ladder?
No I tried to put the rainy cloud above the fire put it moves.
We're looking into the issue on meta, but if it doesn't start the first time you can fix it by UNINSTALLING the apk and then INSTALLING it again. No idea why it happens or why this fixes it, but it does.
Bastiaan, I have no idea why the window binary didn't work for you when it seems to have worked for everyone else. Try redownloading it? Sorry about all this and thanks for your patience!
I was a big fan of the atmosphere of this game along with the small incorporation of world-building. The rewind mechanic was really fun to play around with and I was a big fan of the puzzles. The chrono-crank reminds me of the gravity gun from half life 2.
Cool puzzle mechanic! Well done! Played great on the Linux build but it seemed to boot forever/not start on quest 2.
Visuals and mechanics really felt like I was playing half life 2 for the first time again
For some reason there seems to be a bug where you have to install the apk twice for it to take. I have no idea why.
I do all my dev on linux so that one was always a given 🐧❤️
Very nice, lot of polish for game jam. On index controllers, the activation for winding time is grip instead of trigger, which was confusing at first since grip is also really easy to accidentally input on index, so things were getting frozen in time. I thought in order to listen to the first guy's dialogue, I had to manually wind forward time at the correct rate so it's the voice is understandable, rather than let it play naturally. Which in hindsight would be a cool puzzle.
Sorry about the controllers. It is set up so that both trigger and grip on both hands do the same thing, with a threshold of 25% before it activates. We should probably increase that to 50% or more.
Excellent entry! Great mechanics and very nicely done!
Congrats!
This was a fun experience! I really like how you incorporated the time mechanics into the world. Plus, the steampunk aesthetic really fits the theme well.
Great concept! Perfectly fits the theme. I know some of the art was downloaded assets, but I loved the art anyway. :-) Was the crank itself an original model? Anyway, great work! I had lots of fun playing it :-)
The clock on the back of the gun was from here and the battery was from here but I'm pretty sure the rest is all Leo's wonderful creation. I'll get him to confirm.
The glowy orb at the business end is by our VFX wizard Celyk.
Celyk made the concept art for the gun while i made the base part but not the battery and clock.
Glad you enjoyed the game.
love the low poly aesthetics, the town was nice looking especilally the church had a rly nice sense of scale , very interesting mechanic too fits the theme quite well
i manged to save the falling church guy but the haystack and explosions went unsolved , cranking was getting quite tedious trying to figure out the solutions
Really made me want to start trying to make a Half Life 1 style game in VR !
Congrats on a beautiful and original game.
If you haven't played the hl2 VR mod yet you are in for a treat. I think I enjoyed them more than alyx. In fact when hl2 first came out I bounced off it and only got about 1/3 of the way through, wasn't for me, but with the VR mod I played all the way through and did ep1&2 as well. It's like they were always made for VR.
Just use the cheats to skip the driving section which a pretty puke worthy even with all the motion sickness helpers turned on.
I tried HL2 and gave up at the driving part. Your game gave me intense day of defeat mod vibes and made me think of tinkering with an old school low rez texture ww2 game.
Good work again !
Really pretty.
