Super cool mechanic and the art style was very unique! I was shocked (in a good way) when it asked for access to my camera and that was part of the mechanic. The side arrows blended into the background a little and I think the scroll could be a tad faster, but overall super interesting and fun! Great job!
What a cool game mechanic, and the art was very good too ! I hope you'll be able to work some more on this because this has potential. Congrats on your entry !
For the setup at the beginning, the sound is too loud, it would be nice to lower it.
The arrows to slide left/right are not easily visible, maybe something like an outline could help.
The concept to use the webcam to interact is really interesting! Though It had some issues detecting the eye direction for me. x)
The ambiance and the design were really fitting. Cool game!
I tried to play the game on my phone (safari on iOS, but it crashes on the screen where it says "the button will become clickable when..."). Luckily it worked on my laptop (firefox) because this is such an amazing game! Really really cool idea and very well executed. The hand drawn animations / artstyle are really cool, and the overall story is engaging. Using the webcam is super original and made for a very fun experience. If this was a full game on itch I would 100% play it. Some things I noticed:
P.S. the music and sound effects were amazing!
Hey, thank you so much!! Those are great ideas, and thank you for the kind words! I'm excited to get an update out fixing some things like that and get into the part of the idea that inspired this in the first place (using the different rooms' audio cues to clue you into where the monster is in the house from afar, and closing your eyes to hide), so this is exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for! You're definitely right, making sure the player sees the clues in the right order is super important for the "payoffs" to make sense, and I'll totally be looking into the mobile browser crash issue too. I had a blast writing the characters so I'm really glad you enjoyed the story, looking forward to finishing it!
The camera requirement made me play it on my phone. The scrolling was too slow (maybe because it was expecting a mouse?).
Good visuals and an original idea. Congrats on the game!
Thanks for playing! Haha, very sorry for the slow scrolling on your end, I made quite the rookie mistake tying several things like that to the framerate rather than delta time--so if the webcam detection lags, those things do too. xD Really appreciate your feedback!
