The game has an engaging core mechanic. And I always like MSPaint art. :)
I would say the main thing that would help is to display more information. It was not clear how much damage the attacks were doing, how damaged the buildings were, how anything was contributing to the amount of Faith I was gathering, etc. Like I was confused why my population died out when I had only lost one building. That sort of feedback helps guide the player to engage with the same strategically.
thanks for the feedback. sadly lots of random events happened during the week to me and dxe1102 which prevented us from giving our all. I will check out your game soon. cool title btw. :)
Sure bud, my game is very rough too. I only wanted to suggest a "next step" for improving the game.
I liked the diversity of attacks, the art is very interesting, and itβs definitely a creative idea overall
I did see the controls in the game page but as previously said, I would try to include it in the game in some form in the future. That said using the mouse is a fun control scheme.
Im not sure if things were just bugged but I had no audio of any type, which I think could've definitely helped this game, even if its just stuff ripped from freesound.org which is what I did personally.
Im not sure if the enemies take multiple hits or if some of my attacks werent connecting with them so either the hitboxes could perhaps be a little larger, or there could be a visual indication for health value's of the enemies.
I like the core idea for this game and think it was a very unique and interesting take!
After seeing you write that the controls for the game are in the game description, I realised how to play. I think it's generally best practice to include the controls/tutorial in the game itself, just so that the game can be fully understood by itself. Especially because some important controls, mainly right arrow for repairing buildings, are not really intuitively bound to buttons on the keyboard.
The faith-mechanic is really interesting! It replaced 'mana' or 'energy' as something that actually fits really well in the internal logic of the game, that was smart! Doing attacks with the mouse was fun as well, and their variety gives the gameplay a fun depth. I'm not sure if the lightning attack actually functions well, I couldn't get it to connect.
Visually you've got a nice consistent style, I liked the chest-thumping the vikings do when attacking, that was funny. Information on the HUD wasn't properly displayed on my screen though, I could only clearly see the faith currency.
Thanks for the review, we did not have much time to work on the jam (too much stuff we had to do outside jam) so we got as much as we could done. I'll be sure to check out your game aswell
Yea I couldnt really get how to complete the game sorry, it felt quite confusing and I couldnt find anything to guide me through
So, you have faith which is shown in the top corner. You need to stop the vikings by using faith to make spells. The more powerful = the more faith used. If too many population (houses broken) is destroyed by thr vikings, you gain less faith at the end. Controls are in the desc of the game

Could not figure out how to play.
It says it in the game description
I think this game fits the theme really well, it's just a little tough to play. Idk if I'm the slow one, but I really like the game cause it's very creative and visually appealing.
