This isn't my kind of game but I still gave it a try. I'm not sure what I was doing but I like the art! I would consider another font because the pixelated one is hard to read, though

Super awesome take on the genre, reminds me of Die in the Dungeon a little bit! I had a hard time getting too far into the game because I couldn't figure out how to load more than one die at a time even if I tried to drag it into a slot that was open with a yellow marker. Maybe I was doing something wrong but a bit more explanation around that would be really helpful. Aesthetically and gameplay wise this is a SUPER tight game. It already looks very polished and I had a blast playing. Nice work :)

Yeah lots of inspiration from Die in the Dungeon, it's my favorite from this genre. Yes, an in game tutorial would be hugely helpful, perhaps you ran into a bug though, I'm not sure. Thanks for checking it out though!

Absolutely, it's a really cool game. Do you think you'll expand on it after the jam? I'd love to take a second look later down the road!

I like those games where spellcasting is broken down to different components, so the gameplay here was very appealing to me. It was a bit difficult to understand how everything works, but I think I got the gist of it after 2 deaths. I think changing the font to a more easily readable one and/or making use of some icons or color coding  (or something similar) would help a lot to get a grasp of what's working well and against what.

I wasn't sure I made the best decisions, I was trying to get more dice because it looked like I can't keep up the pace with the enemy, but the dice I stole weren't very useful when I used them. Are the numbers rolled each turn randomly or is there a limit? I never seemed to get anything above 3. While the enemy seemed to have an endless supply of dice, I always ran out. Is the intended way to play to steal a lot, and if so, if it better to steal the numbered dice or the elemental ones? This is not a critique, I'm geniunely trying to understand the tactics here so I can come back and enjoy it with a bit more success. :)

The visuals along with the subtle music worked well to create an arcane atmosphere, and the controls were easy to use in general. Aside from the minor nitpicks above regarding the UI and guiding the player a bit more, it was a well rounded experience, impressive for a solo dev.

Nice work! The art is fantastic, and the gameplay is engaging. It took me a bit to figure out how the stealing works, but it’s fairly simple to get the hang of the mechanics. I played a few runs, and every time I reach the first combat with two enemies, I lose, mostly because I don’t have enough dice to make combos. Keep working on it, it has a lot of potential! And congrats on the entry! :D

really cool twist on the theme, beautiful art, well done

The dice stealing mechanics is very nice and original twist on dicebuilding game.

The pixelart is nice and all visuals sticks together very well. The pixelated text is maybe a little hard to read, but I understand its used for the united visual identity.

Some BG music would be nice.

I like the potential synegies when building a spell you want to cast, it just felt that the element aspect dice could be stronger than +1 effect (especially on higher rarities).

I guess overall I was little confused on the whole counter-element tactics and even afte beating the game I am not suer if I understood it coectly.

It was hard for me to decipher that these numbers in description are number of relevant faces on a dice.

There might be a little bug, where sometimes the elemental dice showed wrong name (eg. dice with ice icon and description had Water in name).

The escape dice felt kind of like cheating. It was much simpler to use it rather than fighting the mages. But maybe I was just lucky to get it most of the time.

Even with notes above, I really enjoyed the game.

Nice job!

Awesome presentation, like others have said it takes a while to get used to the mechanics, but once it clicks it's really fun! Difficulty ramps in a good pace (i'm still struggling on double battles lol). Great job overall, I liked it a lot!

That looks pretty cool.

I’m having some hard time fully understand it but made my way into some higher floors in the second run :)

Well done!

Great game. I really love the pixel art. It takes some time to learn, but it’s very fun once you understand the game mechanic. Introducing new elements more gradually might help with the learning curve.

it's a great game but I suck at it but I had fun playing it

After some rounds I understood the mechanic. Also the indicators above the slots helped a lot. Thank you for adding those!

The stealing can work pretty well if you have the perfect dice combo but in some levels I was spamming the same dice color. Once I had combos it was pretty cool.

Great work and I love the art style!

Developer

Thanks for trying it out and taking the time to learn it! An in game tutorial would have helped a lot, but I feel like after ~3 tries, you get the mechanics down pretty well. I'm glad you like the art style!

Hi, i red the tuto on the page but I don't really understand the dammage and the steal mechanic... but the game look realy cool i would like to understand ! The font is realy hard to read also.

Last thing is that the music is realy cool but is just on the main screen!

Thanks for trying it! Yes, the game really would have benefited from an in game tutorial but I just didn't have the time.

I feel like the game mechanic is awesome, but I don't quite grasp the gameplay loop. A tutorial would really help!

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! Yes I really wish I had more time to build a tutorial but I was busy this morning when I would have done it :(

I see, unfortunate for the game jam. Do you plan on adding that later?
