Gameplay-wise, this is pretty good game. Audio and graphics could of course use some upgrades, but the ones you used aren't half bad. I really liked the sound effects announcing the sun will shoot, which helped with smooth gameplay. I also like how you "forced" player to use the side wrapping. My only problem with it is that for some jumps, I could not see if I should use the side wrap or jump it normally, so I got stuck for a few jumps, trying over and over to use the side wrap. Maybe it is intentional, but it felt a bit bad to me. Another thing that felt a bit weird was the amount of bullets the Sun shoots. It seems that the amount grows with time, but I feel like it would make more sense, if it grew with the current height reached by the player. Last thing, I think that the hit boxes of the terrain were a bit larger that the sprites, so that felt weird for a bit.

But overall, this game was pretty fun. So much so that I have finished it (in my second try with only underwear left XD). Good job making it.

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback, I really appreciate it — and congrats on finishing it with just underwear left, that’s exactly the kind of run I was hoping for!

The wrap-vs-jump ambiguity is fair criticism — I wanted a bit of uncertainty there, but I can see how it might feel frustrating in some spots. I’ll also keep the hitbox readability and bullet scaling in mind.

Thanks again for playing through it and writing this up!

Really strange but good looking sprites, and pretty fun and creative game :)

Developer

Thank you for playing. Glad you enjoyed the weird sprites and had fun with the game ;)

Cocos - that's the name I have not heard in years :D
Nice little thing though, well executed and fun. Good job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing!

Yeah, it’s pretty rare these days.

One nice thing about Cocos is how it builds straight to the web, so it stays pretty lightweight to play.

Fun platformer. The only thing I recommend adding a check point that you can go back to as a way of having mental security once you reach a certain height.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing and for the suggestion! I originally planned to add checkpoints as well, but I had to drop it due to time constraints during the jam. Totally agree it would help with that sense of security as you climb.

This was fun! Simple but the basics are good and the wrap-around screen mechanic is interesting. My only criticism is the sometimes-awkward platform collisions but it wasn't that noticeable. Clothes as health was also funny

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing and for the kind words.

And yes, the platform collisions can feel a bit awkward at times.

That’s good feedback, I’ll keep it in mind and try to improve the collision feel in a future project.

Great idea, it's pretty funny. The only issue is that it's seems that some of the platforms have a bigger colliders , despite that I think it's a great game !

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

I’ll keep an eye on the platform collisions and overall readability. Really glad you enjoyed the idea ;)

Fun but slightly repetitive. Nice combination of bullet hell and platformer. Hope you will add some more enemies or maybe weapons to fight the annoying sun and the wind.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback. The idea was that you’re not supposed to beat nature — just try your best to survive it ;) Adding more enemies is a nice idea though. Glad you enjoyed the bullet hell + platformer mix!

At about 20% of the level I reach I point where I'm stuck, I cannot make any of the jumps. You head sometimes bumps the bottom of platforms sooner then I would expect.

Overal: Great experience. It's got all the important things, sound, music, responsive controls, tension due to the sun and cloud attacks. A bit of joke with the cloths as health. You can be proud of yourself.

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing and for the feedback.

That section around 20% is meant to be one of the tougher parts. It is possible to get through by making good use of coyote time and the wrap-around level design, where the left and right edges connect.

Glad you enjoyed the tension, controls, presentation, and the clothes-as-health joke ;)

ah, the level wraps around, that I didn't notice :)
