Thinking out loud: Build.zip and MyProject.exe. This doesn’t inspire much confidence

Oh we’re straight in the game! Let’s go.

Wow this guy must be spending even more on asset packs than I do. This looks AAA.

Oh straight into instruction. I can learn from this guy.

Hmm. Is it E? Is it space? Space bar, it’s space bar. Could’ve put that at the bottom of the dialog box as a hint.

And here we gooo! I’m not moving? Oh now I am. Slight delay.

Oh shit car, weave and clear. Guy comes to punch me and glitches… I guess I’ll restart the game.

And again the delay after the instruction. It wasn’t a fluke.

Now I’m dodging everyone… And no one starts a fight. I guess I just have to dodge those scanny droid things?

I know the EMP is to the right, but I can’t seem to figure out how to get past the fence. Maybe just continue onward?

Was the game this quiet the whole time? No footsteps, I see a drone fly by and I can just hear my imagination giving it a wub-wub-wub sound but it isn’t actually there.

I go round the corner dodge the last scanny boi and… into the void. I think I clipped through the map.

Well the EMP is that way though so let’s keep going. Nope no way to get back in there. Oh well, I guess that’s it for me.

Review: Looks amazing and the scope is very clear. Really well planned.

The visuals are amazing but I did expect more sound to match that. And no way to actually reach the ending made it a bit unsatisfying for me. But until it really felt like a game.

I really admire you setting a goal and really keeping it to a minimum, because you’re in a game jam. Kudos.

Thank you for your feedback, a UI prompt should have shown up when you are near the gate, pressing e then would have shown the player kicking the gate open in order to reach the Emp. Working on fixing this. Happy to hear you enjoyed what little of the experience I could finish :) I quite enjoyed your entry aswell.

The game is starting strong with a mission intro (and to my delight it is a 3D open world game). The mission starts easy enough: find the hidden EMP bomb, get it. The distance shrinks when I walk. Ok. A car tries to run me over, some street fighters try to stop me, I cope with it because I have a sword. The screen gets glitchy when the Character is hurt. Interesting.

On the way I notice some collider bugs: invisible walls, feet in the concrete. Does not stop me.

Then I have the bomb, get a new destination, about 70 m apart. But this time the distance remains between 67 and 70 m in the whole level - which is not big. I go everywhere, finding no elevator. There is one stairway but the character can't walk stairs. Can't even jump.

And that's all. Nothing more to do than running around. Checked the level three times. Don't do this to me! Just when it gets good!

By the way, some alleys end in nothing. Where there should have been a building there is only green emptiness and when you walk into it, you leave the game terrain and fall endlessly into oblivion. Man, simply put up a wall up here, a building, a fence, anything. ;-)

The game has no sound at all (I played two of the other GJ games on my test system and they had, so my sound works). And no menu so you have to Alt-F4 it when you want to leave.
So it feels incomplete, especially in the level itself. While the game has good assets to make a perfect visual impact, it falls flat on the movement (even the free Standard Unity 3rd Person Controller lets you jump and walk stairs). So the mission was not doable for me. Or maybe I missed a hidden clue?
The communication requirement/limitation was only visible in the intro (mission briefing).
Sound and a menu would improve the game greatly. Walking stairs, even more. But as it is, I liked it though. With more content in the level and a clearer path where to go from there it can get really good.

Thank you very much for your detailed feedback :) I am aware of the missing content and will start to iterate on the game this week. I actually never thought of putting an elevator in the level but am thinking to put one in now. The mission has only been finished for 1/3 so you did not miss a hidden clue the content was simply not programmed yet.
As for the collider bugs and incomplete movement, it will also be fixed very soon. Feels great that you saw potential in the game.
