Fun! the green spiky platforms are difficult to see against the background but aside from that i'd say this controls quite nicely and has some interesting mechanics :D
some platforms are hard to see, and I was confused which stuff can kill me or not. Nice art style and town!
Great job! Very creative level designs especially the one where the rock chases you.
One of the best rage games I've played, and made in only 2 days :O
I love the simple art style and how the falling rocks are the most rage inducing thing in this entire world... I really like this game :) Good job!
This is rad for a first game! The rock following you in the final part was super cool! I'd love to see that expanded. I also love the simple cinematic you made, that added a big touch to the style. There definitely needs to be a larger distinction between intractable / damaging objects and background elements though. The first brown vines(?) at the start I instantly died to out of confusion. That brown mixes with the brown ground. Similarly, the floating platforms were dark green on a dark green background.
I recommend looking into basic color theory. Nothing crazy, but contrast is important (If the background is dark, the intractable obstacles should be bright. If the background color is a cold color, the platforms should be a warm color). Otherwise though this is awesome! Great job starting your game making journey.
Thank you, I will keep this in mind.
Cheers on your first game jam, and on beginning the learning process! I'm new to this myself as well.
The movement is pretty snappy so it can be easy to accidentally undershoot/overshoot a jump or walk into a falling rock sometimes, but for a first game it's a nice starting point to improve from!
Thank you for the advice.
I like the retro vibes. Very silly art and cool plot for a short game
Thanks
Fun little game! To me at first it wasn't completely clear what can kill you and also coyote time for the jump would have been nice. Still i enjoyed this very much, and the cinematics were fun!
Thanks
The platforming mechanics were solid, although I'm so bad at these types of games lol. Maybe if you had more time a more intense level to go back to town with apple would be fun, just an idea!
Yes, I was thinking of adding stages to the return journey, but time was tight. As for the platform, I noticed this because the AST I took didn't have a jump animation.
It has a genuine beauty to it. I love the haunted rock room.
Thanks
this is a game that i certainly enjoyed!
I love the graphics! The hand‑drawn cinematics give it so much personality... hahaha, they really add flavour!
Thanks
