I recently switched over from Windows to Linux (i say recently this was about half a year ago) and now use Arch btw, and I’d really like support for maybe a .AppImage file that you could download with the game because am my friends have been heavily recommending this game,

It works, but I've found it requires using Proton 9.0-4, Experimental and Hotfix crash for me. It does ask to install the C++ runtime. It does crash upon loading the Tutorial level the first time, but the second attempt it worked.
The game also works with Bottles, if you can get Bottles to work. I need to reinstall my GPU drivers, because it can't find them. But otherwise worked significantly better with Soda than standard Proton.
I just use the Windows version by adding a non-steam game, pointing it to the VOTV.exe and then run it with proton experimental. Works fine for me. Have you made sure your Nvidia gaming drivers are installed? Also, what distro are you on? I'm on Kubuntu, but Mint, Ubuntu and other Debian based distros should word. I also know the game runs on CacheyOS as well. So It should work on Arch distro's as well.
