Wow, pretty cool! The enemies were kinda simple but still hard to dodge. Good job!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
Gah! Those evil dark slimes have such an easy time hunting me down! So unfair! ;-;
I had fun playing it for sure, but yeah, I agree there is a massive platforming difficulty spike once you start exploring the 2nd area. I found stuck in the bottom-left corner with no real way out, it seems. :(
You're right, the difficulty is way higher than I intended. If you want a hint, that area is designed like a ladder with altenating rungs in alternating worlds, you just gotta go back and forth to look for them ;)
Oh yeah, this is fun. I wish I could play more, but my screen is a bit too big for a small sized-game. This is either an itchio problem or Firefox, but the game screen was the size of a playing card hehe
But this is really fun. I love the exploration and how the slime just chases you. It reminds me of old arcade maze games that would spawn a little devil to kill you if you didn't finish the level soon enough. Good job!
Hmm, i'll look into that screen size issue; it's a little small for me too but I'm not sure how to change it. I don't think itchio has an option to scale a game, so I will probably have to somehow change the .html that I upload... Glad you had fun tho, and thanks for playing!
Really clever mechanic for expanding the game world and ramping the difficulty! I love the concept. That said, the platforming is really challenging here, and it felt like the difficulty went through the roof the minute I got to the second level. Getting hit by one of the slimes left me frustrated and wondering how I'd even get back to some of the earlier areas to get my lost collectable. The visuals and audio were really great here, but I feel like the level design (which has so much potential to be amazing given the mechanic) needs more tweaking before the concept and gameplay can really shine together. Thanks for making and sharing your game—I had fun playing it and thinking critically about your concept here!
That's really great feedback, thank you! Glad you had fun and thanks for playing :)
WOW the stacked levels are really awesome and mind-bending!! very well designed with some super satisfying platforming and enemy patterns!
But perhaps counter-balanced too heavily with frustrating impossible-to-reach ledges, deadends, forced backtracking from punishing progress loss if the slime monster gets you!
I'm theorycrafting the difference between losing your energy orb and having to go back VS resetting at the checkpoint right before the energy orb
super polished and satisfying movement mechanics, everything felt great to play! i love the character sprite and animation. And the twist after level 1 was a real surprise twist!
has a really great arcade feel with the style and sound design! it definitely could have also been enhanced with some cool background music!
Hey that's a great idea! Instead of being collectables you can lose, if they were checkpoints instead it would be way less frustrating. Glad you enjoyed the movement and everything. You're right, it definitely needs background music. Thanks for playing!
The gameplay is super cool! the moment i pick up all the orbs i was like...now next level ? NO! IT GIVE YOU A GRAND NEW GIMIC TO CHANGE BETTHEN WORLDS duuude this is awesome! and the sprites are cool too! the effects of the background and the characters the style of tiles...its so cool.maybe i like the sprites too much because...i really dont get why you simply put the slime and not redraw in your beutiful style,but works too!,i dont completed the game yet i will do after playing the rest! i liked it so much!
another thing: i really wish it had music...
Aw thank you so much!! I'm glad you like the style :) it never occurred to me to customize the slime guy but I bet it could look really nice. I would love to add music in a post-jam version, thanks for the idea.
