I really enjoyed this! I always enjoy playing deckbuilders with new and unique mechanics, and to call this anything but would be criminal.

This game is beautiful! The art and music/sound design are fabulous! However, unless you are into this type of game, it's very overwhelming at first. I think the tutorial could use a bit of work, but otherwise a great entry!
Brilliant art and I enjoy the ui design. Oh yeah and also nice custom loading screen!
The mood of the game is very enjoyable, I think that comes from being in the dungeon while playing your cards. Very immersive.
It's also clear you're a fan of card games, there are some great synergies here.
Congratulations on this one!
Thank you so much for the kind words!
This game was amazing! The artwork was beautiful, the game was very creative and awesome to play. I never ended up using any of the "burn" damage items because I'm a coward and don't want to die, and didn't find a way to heal until an item I found at the end of the game. Akin to how people feel about my game, I had a little bit of difficulty understanding it at the start, and the scaling can be a little broken (I got up to high 20 ferocity and decimated the second half of the game), but overall it was awesome, keep up the good work!
I feel like finding OP combos is part of the fun of Deck builders. But none of my play testers got up to twenty! Did you just save up a bunch of boiling blood cards?
I absolutely agree. I guess I just got lucky, the vast majority of the "blood exchange" places were some kind of damage up, and I found a lot of blood by clicking the pots, I even found 3 in one room! Kinda cheesy but I found if I sit with weakened enemies and my 5 Guard I got early, I can build threat and farm Gallantry required to use the cards. It's crazy the kind of luck or strategies (or cheeses) real players come up with when you give them your game.
That doesn't feel like cheese to me at all, I really like when people get into trying to make op combos
Really well made as well as really high quality. Everything was a bit overwhelming at first but once you understand it it gets really fun. Good Job. And the Sorry for the Softlocks in the Video Pitch was funny
This is a really fun game...once you understand how to play lol. the tutorial is very confusing but I eventually got past it, and once you do its Very fun! The story seems very intriguing, and I wanna know more about the character and the world they live in. I don't know if theres more than one level because after i beat the first level it took me back to the title screen. Overall Really great game but that tutorial is rough lol.
By the way, we also made a cool game called "Prisoner of Despair" if you wanna try it out ;)
If you're every feeling like there are three more levels with more interesting cards and enemies! I don't know why they sometimes take you back to the title screen, that didn't happen in my project version :/ either way thank you for playing!

A friend of mine is one of the biggest fans of this type of game and he was always telling me to try Slay the Spire, he plays it everywhere, but it never really caught my attention. I randomly came across this game you made in that style, and seeing how satisfying it is and how well you’ve done it, I think you’ve just opened the door for me to a whole new genre. Seriously, thank you, it’s really cool.
By the way, if you feel like it, I’d love for you to try our game!! I’d be really excited to see what you honestly think. Thanks anyway ;)))
First up Super cool Idea, and I love the art! I'm going on a limb here but I feel you and I possibly did similar things where we focused to much on art and not on game play. I did get stuck in the tutorial, but what I did do was fun. The enemy's are cool and I liked the whole different costs for things and how you can trade your different energy's for other ones. I say again the art was super cool, I love bird masks for some reason and the character looked super cool!
Yeah I've gotten the thing about the tutorial a lot. the second to last set of messages explains how to get out. I'm pretty sure the tutorial temple is the only one where its impossible to get soft locked. So if you ever feel like giving it another shot, pay close attention when the tutorial talks about TOTEMS and BLOOD cards
First thought, I did not know you could create custom loading screen with godot that is cool! As is mentioned in the short video I do get softlocked, I couldn't pull up the settings menu during the tutorial once I get to the room behind the wall with the key card in it or interact with the key card it self. Due to that and the "Begin" option being grayed out, there isn't much to experience yet. That said there seems to be a bunch of gameplay mechanic that is thrown at the player to understand very quickly in the tutorial, that did get a little overwhelming(could just be me) so maybe it would be better to introduce that bit by bit if it can fit in the structure of the planned main gameplay run. The art of the game is good but the text for the card doesn't look well when its not in focus/enlarged. I think adding more music will be nice also. Overall cool concept! Just need more time in the oven.
The tutorial text says you can break the pots in the key room to get BLOOD, give that to the totem to get the key! Its easy to miss if you press next turn before reading all the way, I prolly should have had that info in the final tutorial loop instead of the second to last one :/
Alright! Once you know what's going on it's actually pretty fun! Right clicking to turn around, the minimap at the top left. On my first few tries of the tutorial I thought turning around was just going to the next turn and encountering new enemy as the level sprite looks the exact same. Once I realise what's going on I could navigate and find those pots, unlocked the main game and get to the end of that returning to the main screen again. Additional review then since now I saw more, I like the camp site cutscene at the beginning, nice art indeed! And dialogue system as well!
Slay the Spire 3 🤩
I love how it turned out ! 5/5
Nice Game , Great Idea , love deck builders and could come at a better time with all the slay the spire hype. Aztecs and central America never get enough games made inspired by them.
