This is a really polished game with great use of theme and very well drawn graphics!
This has so much personality, I really like the fish designs and the little defeated image that flashes up when you lose a catch. I had a great time puttering around the archipelago and fishing!
Cool game, I find the names of the fish funny and the fish-catching mechanic is fair. the theme is well implemented.
Very cool take on fishing! I loved reading the book and the fun and wacky fish you came up with. The variety in gameplay was also very cool, although I did find some of the fish really difficult/grindy (or possible I just suck :( ). Also loved the feel of just sailing around. Great work!
Daaamn i ususually hate fishing games but this has such a sick fishing mechanic - and you escalated it really smartly with the extra islands and enemy types. Honestly the rush i felt when i first flicked through the fish book, sun wu koi and his spinning pole and cloning move is genius. And congratulations on your 6th (?) pizza jam entry!! I really need to invest in some stamp cards. This is a baller entry, hope you had fun jammin ✨

I can't believe no one is mentioning Pokémon Ranger in the comments! I assume this was part of the inspiration, and the way you executed that gameplay loop (pun intended) is spot-on! Each of the fish encounters felt unique and their individual mechanics were fun to engage with. The skills obtained throughout the playthrough were a nice touch as well. My only critique is that the audio seemed a bit unbalanced, with the music being especially quiet. That's just me being nitpicky though. This is a really great submission!

The game is just so cozy. I like the vibe of it! Fishing has never quite been my cup of tea but the aesthetics sure made me stay for at least a while.

This was really fun and unique! I had to come up with unique strategies to catch each fish. From one fishing game to another I say good job! This was one of my favorite games Ive played in the jam so far. It looks really good and the 3d / 2d stuff was really cool. I really like this one!

Interesting unique gameplay and like how the challenges change it up as it goes. I like the take on legendary fisherman being a man fishing legendary fish. I love the book entries, they were well drawn and the lore was fun. I think filling the book entries as you find them would have really stoked people's completionist spirit.
