By traced sprites, that means sprites traced over pre existing sprites. I'm sure that's forbidden. Right? Obviously making original sprites.

It's not something I'd be inclined to allow, no. Better rawer, cruder sprites made by you than anything traced or frankensprited. You can still use other sprites as references, of course, while drawing yours.
