Really fun to play and i love the art style.
It sometimes works weird when showing the info of the objects (you are in certain object but still shows other objects info).
And what really annoys me is that if you click move option in a character and the move button of the HUD had floor below it immediatly uses that tile as the one to move, you have to remeber to zoom out everytime you want to move so you dont missclick. Hope you solve that when jam ends.
Thanks a lot for the feedback! Yeah that is at the top of our list of changes. Still it-s good that aside from that you enjoyed it >:D
it's a very well rounded game, could probably become its own game after the game jam even if it doesn't win
Really cool game. From the combat to the visuals, everything is put together very well
Really reminded me of Mario Rabbids Game based on Gameplay.. keep it up
I really like the idea of this game. The background track slaps!! The only problem i have is that , when you boot up the game for the first time , the info you get about the game passes by really quickly and its a little confusing figuring out whats happening at first. Other than that , great job!!
Super cool idea - awesome pitch too, throwback to childhood imagination! I definitely enjoyed theory crafting some builds up, could see it develop more! One thing I struggled with was if i wanted to move with a character who could move far, i couldnt pan the screen without deselecting them, so occasionally I couldn't move them all the way down and to the right if i wanted to :P
Otherwise, i really enjoyed it, and the music was really cool too!
Thanks a lot for playing! Yeah there are quality of life things that we need to add. However I really appreciate that you enjoyed theory crafting builds!
Really cool idea, and a really cool art style! The combat is really fun and interesting, but I the game being a rougelike (kind of) hurts it, I wanna change my deck to fit the new fights but having to redo the old fights and have a randomized shop was kinda discouraging. Also the game was a bit buggy at times. Still a fun game who looks great and sounds nice too.
I see. Perhaps there is a middle ground where the character builds and shop can meet with intentional map design. Thank you for raising such interesting points!
The idea is really good and the video pitch caughts attention, but the game needs polishing and a tutorial. Still enjoyed the game though!
The hand drawn asthetic is awesome, and the music is great! Some sort of tutorial fight or something to teach the player would make this next level :D
Very fun visuals and music. A lil confusing at first but still neat.
Love the artstyle and audio, they really sell the vibes of this game.
Thanks a lor for paying :D
Your hand-drawn style art is really cool
Thanks a lot I'll be sure to show the compliment to our artist! :D
this game a has a lot of charm and the mechanics are fun though there are a lot of weird little bugs your pitch video si honestly really good though
For some reason buying stuff for the deck didn't work for me, the first time I realized it was because I didn't actually choose anything from the deck to switch it out for, but the second time I did that and the stuff I bought still didn't show up in the battle prep screen. This may just be a skill issue on my end though. Also didn't like how sometimes when I clicked the move button the troop would just go somewhere immediately.
Other than those two things though, I thought the artstyle was pretty cool, and the video pitch definitely caught my attention. I also like the concept, the idea of getting to build your troops with items from a deck is pretty nice, especially the fact that the deck is shared between all of them. I also liked the creativity put into each item and thinking of the ways to work with them.
Very cool game, would play again if it got an update post jam.
Yeah the movement issue is a bug that we realized way too late that it was there. As for the deck most likely it's just that we didn't explain correcly that your deck consists of 15 cards but you draw 12 at the start of battle. Still I'm glad the concept managed to shine through.
I see, I think I may have just gotten unlucky in drawing the new items then.
Probably but regardless of the case thans for playing :D
love this concept. I only played a few lvls so far.
the game is oozing with charm, I love the art style and kid-inspired items ect.
I do agree with a commenter below who mentioned the desire to see which unit you are applying the perks to.
the UI is very pleasing, as is the artwork in general.
also, great pitch!
good work.
Thanks a lot! I'll keep the feedback in mind.
The art style reminds me a lot of fnf
The art style reminds me a lot of fnf
Haha yeah it was a primary source of inspiration for our artists.
My strat was just a character who gained health every time he got attacked
I hope it was effective :D
Fun little turn based strategy game with a creative theme. I enjoyed the UI for the character stats being a piece of paper and the music was catchy too! The equipment also was fun and thematic. While I'm not sure how drastic the building gets into later levels, early enemies seemed easy enough to deal with. I do wish there was a way to know or see the kid unit's stats (since one of them has extra range over the other two) so I could determine which items would be better to put on it. Seeing the stats update as you equip the items pre-combat would be nice too.
Great points. There are definitely a lot of quality of life adjustments to be made and who knows maybe a post jam version could add them. Still its great that you enjoyed it!
