You have great mechanics, with a great idea that is not needed (almost) to finish the game... Which is a huge shame. Change it. OR I will show it EVERY YEAR on the school lesson! (I need something to torture you, since you fixed ethernal effort)
But I appreciate that the whole world, not even the protoagonist, is (perhaps?) on mushrooms,
Just when we thought we were finally free...
I laughed at the idea of having to throw an egg to free hands to fight monsters. And it works! Nice little platformer game. The team should work more on the platformer mechanics and physics, as these are rough in this game and it harms otherwise great idea.
For example when egg enters cobwebs from below, it gets slowed down, but it quickly returns to its falling state; it behaves differently when it enters from above. It seems inconsistent; compare with cobwebs in Minecraft.
Also the game difficulty should be better balanced. Or maybe I am bad at playing this type of games, when I have no respawn points and health pickups. :)
The idea of balancing the egg and combat was really cool. I wish you would also be able to use the egg in combat by throwing it at the enemies or something :D. Also it was a little clunky for me on laptop (with no mouse), so I may have made it harder on myself
Either carrying egg or being capable to attack is neat idea, but it isn't finished from the level design. I managed to complete the game without throwing the egg once. In some later levels I had a feeling I was bypassing the intended part of the level. I think, if the jumping wasn't so much "jetpack-ey", it would be a lot harder to just run through the whole game with egg in the hands. A few tweaks to levels, enemies and egg-aiming, and the game can fully live to it's potential.
Very cool concept for a mechanic. Also great use of the ingredients.
The final version is actually pretty well balanced and the environment supports it (cobwebs). AI is also well balanced so the difficulty is managable (although it is hard). The artsytle works well with everything so no copmlaints there.
What I was missing was some music to further sell me on the environment. I liked the story, but there could have been more. There is no benefit to actually fighting the enemies, so just dodging them feels optimal (which might not be the best game design). Also the game felt a bit short but that is understandable for a game jam game.
Good job!
Finished the game by throwing the egg only once (physical limitations of mine)
We pride ourselves on our games' accessibility
I instantly forgot how to throw an egg. I walked. I jumped. I walked and jumped. I walked. Then the guy told me that I had to throw an egg. I started frantically clicking random keys and looking for a way to do it. Then the peeing animation appeared. Then the game ended.
Original and good ideas for the mechanic, but they didn't feel that enjoyable unfortunately
- The jumping felt off, just too floaty for my liking
- The game is beatable by just avoiding enemies (and maybe easier that way)
- The ecosystem mechanic is a big mystery on how to manipulate it so it doesn't feel that good to play with
Other than that the game looks and sounds okay and is very creative and has great potential.
Everything about the egg is absolutely out of this world. It is just so good! I would love to see a two player version (throwing egg to each other).
Moc pěkná a zábavná hra. Nejlepši strategie je za mě oběhnout enemies a nefightit. Líbilo se mi jak se prostředí kolem mě mění. Chyběla mi jen u toho ještě nějaká distracting hudba do pozadí. ^^
You had me at "my buildíme lore přímo v názvu" :D
Mechanika naprosto super, jen se ji Euleružel dalo vyhnout, místo nebezpečného žonglování to stačilo proběhnout 😀.
Really neat idea, and a fun one at that too! :) I love the fact that the whole dragon egg thematic all ties up very well with a little narrative that does not need to be overexplained, and is very tight with the overall gameplay too
The game overall feels kinda onesided when it comes to punishment. Its very light on the combat side, but game ending on the egg smash. I dont mind it being this punishing for the egg (its kinda the point and the gimmick of the game), but it feels disbalanced for the combat, as it kinda makes me not engage with the combat, because i get punished for breaking the egg, but the enemies are stupid and simple enough, that i can just run through them and worst case just “tank” one for the team. I think a tiny bit less health with heal spots could make the player engage with the combat more
I also think i could enjoy the combat more if the egg throw could be aimed with a mouse? It gets kinda input heavy to try to juggle all of it at once, and i think the juggling of the egg while fighitng is really fun, but it could be better if it wasnt discouraging because of the need to aim with the input keys during action / combat
Other than that, i think it ended up as a really cool game, and im glad i got to play it, thank you :)
Great mechanic and a hilarious premise and ending. Wish there was more direct control over where the egg will be flung via the mouse pointer. The egg breaking on screen edge feels brutal. In the end I found it the easiest to not engage with the mechanic that much and just run for it, dodging the enemies. Overall a very charming and enjoyable game
Great game, Great visual, supreme mechanic, not so great use of ingredients? Personally, I enjoyed every aspect of the game, but just didn't really see the ingredients used much in the game, which is a shame.
But I really want to highlight the main mechanic of the game: throwing and catching the egg and fighting in between. ABSOLUTELY GREAT! Loved it!
Also the ending; lmao.
Overall, great job on the game, I just wish the ingredients were used better (maybe I am missing something but still).
Když jsou Griffini na houbách tak jsou ve vejci :D
Neatidea that you are most vulnerable during attacking.
Would be nice to be able to place it on the ground optionaly but then the enemies would prioritize it over me (Free food for them).
I feel betrayed by the egg cracking on the edge of the screen. There was still travel time on the other side!
Also visualizing which pits are going to kill you and which ones you can explore would be nice.
Also wasnt the one huh :D Are there multiple endings?
Only one egg survived the battle so there's only one ending :(
