That’s a short, but nice game with a very distinct graphics which reminded me of some early 90s games when 3d just started to become a thing, while it wasn’t truly 3d in that days.
The loop is simple, but it’s working, run towards the prince, pickup poop, kill rats, buy weapon upgrades from rats also.
I think that the ending should be more obvious that this is the end though :)
Here’s my play-through:
Cleaned poops, traded them for upgrades, brought prince to the white screen :)
Really minimal, but it works! But damn that baby poops a lot! And even with pacifier can be heard few rooms away haha!
Got to the white screen! When the baby got away after being hit makes me so annoyed at him. Annoying baby! Great controls but as others said J button as attack is a questionable decision. Its a nice game nevertheless, I think the BGM loop adds to the charm!
Somebody get this guy a diaper!
Minimal but everything there was great. Extremely cute baby and rats!
The game was nice, and about perfect size for its content!
I got a bit confused at the end? As I read most everyone got. I was a little uncertain because at one time the prince escaped and I thought maybe I got to the triangle and the prince had gotten out of my inventory again and it didn’t count as a win. But if that was gonna happen the prince really had to escape forward in view first so you see what is happening. Even though his annoying crying sounds could be heard way too far…. because my brain just shut that out after a while lol…
Play-through:
Reading your comments I reached the end.
The game is very fun honestly. The interpretation of the theme is great, the game looks great and the music somehow fits also it gets old at some point. The game controls perfectly and I like the combat system, an upgrade system is cool and how it's all presented to fit the theme is cool too.
Thanks for sharing!
Super creative interpretation of the theme. The movement controller feels excellent and the artstyle worked well.
I don't think I need to flog a dead horse on the music, but all in all this is very solid. I did have to come to the comments to ensure the white screen was the end, but time gets away from us all I think :D.
All in all its short, snappy, crunchy and a nice little experience. I had fun, thank you
good combat, artstyle is good! Only problem that i have is you can't hit the baby(joke)
Good crap! And btw the idea with a literally crawling prince is genius
Nice little game.
The combat was actually really fun and prob what I liked most of the entry.
I did end up at the yellow screen three times and thought I made something wrong with the prince. I should have red these posts I guess. The music is catchy, especially the chorus...
Also found your debug which made me super mighty :)
That baby was motoring at the start but I did eventually catch up. Cleaning up the poop made me laugh. I also hit the blank screen at the end but I see from below that it was a jam time constraint issue. It was fun, thanks!
Thanks for cleaning up after the prince!
The theme was implemented was implemented very nicely. What a great idea. The graphics were smooth and controls felt right. Attacking somehow had a nice feel to it. Collecting poop was super funny. But it ended with a blank white screen for me. Was this a bug or did time run out?
I ran out of time and was terrified to add anything else by that point. XD
Cute concept with cleaning up the prince's poop and turning it in for upgrades, hah.
Controls were SUPER SMOOTH, though I wasn't a fan of the J to attack necessarily. Got me to use both hands on the keyboard though.
Appreciated having a map and the upgrade system and I got to the escape prism/portal, prince in hand.
I will say, however, that the biggest enemy in the game is the music loop XD.
Hahaha, yeah. I can’t bear to listen to it anymore myself lol
I just ran out of time… I threw that in as a first pass and then it just stayed that way, given how much more I had to work on (well… you know how it goes)
