Use of the limitation
The roles in the game are inverted. Bennie the rabbit is sick of being hunted by horrible farmers. So he steals their shotgun and is about to get some revenge. The limitation fits in perfectly to the gameplay. Every farmer killed translates to a powerful shell that you can use to blast yourself through the map and build up momentum. This is the core mechanic. Kill enemies to use the better part of your weapon to traverse the map!

Cookies eaten
I sadly had no cookies. But I did have three takeaways in a row. The grind was real. You could say the crunch was real... Cus you mentioned cookies.. which crunch. And crunch, as in crunching time.. cus the deadline was close and I had to crunch for time to get it done. It is just an hour before the deadline now, so going to submit. You get it anyway! Thanks for the awesome Jam!

I love the artstyle and the concept. The use of limitation was good too.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much 🙏 I appreciate you

The art design for this is super attractive and drew me in immediately when I saw it. Neat platforming idea as well. I had fun playing.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Glad you had a good time and liked my art.

The physics feels really smooth, and shooting the shells is satisfying, although the cursor seems to lag sometimes, but it might be just my machine.

Enjoyed playing.

Developer

I appreciate your comment and feedback my friend :)

Cursor lag? Really? Is this the browser version or the downloaded executable? I will look into it. I have never noticed this before?

Submitted(+1)

Its on the browser version, the cursor randomly freezes in place sometimes, I only noticed when trying to shoot, not too often, I'm using firefox.

Developer

I am sorry about that. I have not noticed it myself but I will take a look when I get the chance for the next update.

Very stylized graphics and audio, and all around great feel for the movement. Really fun!

Developer

THANK YOUUU FOR PLAYING! I appreciate it :)

This turned out especially well given the time-frame, and having recoil blast you forward is always a satisfying thing to have as someone who played a lot of Noita. Regarding the camera comment, there's always going to be some trial and error and memorization in platformers such as with timing and inputs, but I also think it'd be a bit more lenient if the camera displayed more of the level as you're moving through it, which would give more of a buffer to react in case you're shooting straight into a saw blade. Super Meat Boy is a good example of how you can show more of the level while still making it large enough to traverse through.

Developer(+1)

This is great feedback. Best I have got. I appreciate it so much. The camera one was a weird one for me. Because I wanted the camera to go out even a little more, but i’m using Unity with a Pixel Perfect Camera. My game is pixel art and my Pixel Perfect Camera automatically sets the correct orthographic size (the zoom in and out) that is meant to be used for my game. Only other way of zooming out is switching my sprites for 16 PPU to 32 PPU. The problem with that is, it will zoom out times 2. Which would be way too much. So I struggled a little with this problem. Maybe I am misunderstanding pixel art with Unity a little, but that is my understanding. Thank you for your feedback :) and for playing.

Wow. Just wow. This game is incredible. I love the movement, aesthetic, and difficulty of the game. Reminds me a bit of Ultrakill. I would love to see this as a longer, more fully fledged game! This is truly incredible for a 72 hour jam. Fantastic job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much my friend! I am actually working on making this my first full Steam release as we speak. So make sure to stay tuned if your interested. Thank you :)

This game is phenomenal! The controls feel super slick, the art pops so well with such a limited palette, and pulling off an insane combo feels fantastic! Everything clicks amazingly for being made in such a short time. I would love to see a speedrunning community form around this, it has so much potential! Super well done!

Developer

Thank you so much for this comment. I REALLY appreciate it. I am actually going to be making this a full release and working hard on it now! I have been sent some insane speedruns and have done some myself.

Add me on discord and I can send them to you if you want?

I like the style. I really struggled with figuring out the wall jump, couldnt figure it out for 10 min straight lol, I kept smacking into the wall, and then I went down to read the comment and it said to hold down space and then press space again. It worked! I am a noob and never wall jumped before though. I tried for around 20 min but I couldn't get past the tutorial. Best I could do was cross the big jump. I wish there was a way to save the progress of tutorial after u clear each part, because I kept dying and having to restart from the beginning, but I couldn't clear the previous parts again (wall jump, big jump), so I needed to do those too, and then the time and effort would stack lol. And this may just be me being not very smart but I only figured out at the very end that you are supposed to point the rifle in the opposite direction to launch yourself over the gaps, I kept pointing it straight down and using my D key to try and move. I liked that the tutorial was bit by bit and taught you how to play, instead of a big blurb at the beginning.

Developer

Thank you for playing the game. I really appreciate it. No worries if it took you a while to get it. It is my fault as the developer. I tried to make the tutorial as clear as possible in a short amount of time but this game is hard so the full game will have a much better tutorial. The difficulty won't scale this fast at all. And last night I polished off the strong shot gun shells to be a lot more consistent. It is my fault they werent clear. It was my first time ever designing levels so I was trying to do it all bit by bit, but it does go way too fast. THANK YOU THO!

Submitted(+1)

This game came together super well! It feels a little hard (but that might also be because I'm playing on a trackpad). My only issue is that sometimes you don't know what the level up ahead is going to look like until you get there, and so you have to learn by trial and error and memorization rather than planning ahead based on visual problem solving. Lastly, the art looks really great!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing my game. I can't believe you beat any of the levels with a track bad. THAT IS INSANE! You deserve a medal for that. Truly. The difficulty does get too hard way too quick. That is my bad. I was in a rush making the levels sadly. I wonder if learning from trial and error is a bad way to go with this game then? I am not sure.

Such an amazing game !! I absolutely loved the cute graphics and levels , should make it into a full game!

Developer(+1)

THANK YOU ! Yes, I am already working towards a demo for steam and expanding this into a full game. REALLY excited about this one.

Submitted(+1)

Your game is solid !!!!!! I have so much fun playing it, the concept is solid and exection is perfect (I love how you wrote the little messages along the way ahah !)

Developer

My game is solid? YOUR GAME IS AMAZING! I loved it. Anyway thank you for playing the game. I am glad you had a good time with it. You are super talented

Submitted(+1)

I don't quite like platformer but this one actually has such a cool mechanic of switching left and right click all the time that my brain hurts :D in a good way. One tiny nitpick is the bullet on the top left i saw way to late and never knew if i had a strong bullet left (could be a side-effect of playing on an ultra-wide screen )

Developer

Thank you for playing and thank you so much for your feedback. I understand what you mean! I will try update it after voting.

Submitted(+1)

WOWWW this is great. the camera is a bit to zoom it could be much better if you would have further look

btw the audio is very low. WELL DONE!

Developer

Thank you so much! And your game is awesome too. I loved it. Really good job :) Sorry about not having a volume setting in for the final version here.

goated mario type game

Developer(+1)

I am so happy you saw the mario inspiration. I am going to go deeper on the mario-like in the full demo release too. With a world map and everything.

Submitted(+1)

I really think this generation is craving tougher, more demanding games like this. There’s a clear niche for what you’ve built, and you’re hitting it in a great way. You might seriously want to consider bringing it to Steam, it feels like it could find a strong audience there. Awesome work.

Developer(+1)

I am so happy you said this. I am already working on bringing this to Steam and have a very good vision for it. It is going to be a mario like world map too. Super excited about it too. And my composer is down to work on it the full way through. Thank you for saying that. I definitely want the game to get this hard, but in this version it got way too hard too quick in my opinion. Thank you again for playing and your great feedback.

Submitted(+1)

it is from the heart!

I love the graphics and the game design im just sad that in the browser right-clicking pops up a smaller window so

i couldnt really aim and shoot that well.

Developer

Hello. Sorry I don’t understand? The browser version works well I think? You can press the full screen button and you should be ready to go? Can you explain what you mean if you have the time🙏

If it wont work you can also download the game if you wish. No pressure. But thank you for playing :)

I just tried again and the popup doesnt appear (probably a browser bug) anymore so this is actually a rlly good game now that i can properly play it ima rate you higher cus my original reply kinda blamed you for my browser glitch. sry.

Developer

Don't be sorry at all. I am really happy you tried again and had a good time. THANK YOU :)

Submitted(+1)

Cute graphics, perfect idea. wall jump is hard. nice game.

Developer

Thank you so much 👍🙏 Do you mind telling me what you find hard about the walljump? if you can put it into words. No worries if not.

Submitted (1 edit)

I don’t know if it’s just me, but when I jump onto the wall, I bounce off it – not upwards, but sideways. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. It takes me a dozen or so attempts before I manage to jump up.

(That’s definitely the case in level 1)

Apart from that, I really enjoyed the game.

EDIT:

I took a closer look. I’m not sure if it’s a bug in the game, but the thing is, to jump onto the wall, you have to hold down the space bar and then press it a second time. Maybe it’s because the timing isn’t quite right, but you have to perform all these actions in perfect sync. It’s a bit counterintuitive, and the on-screen text (hint) doesn’t explain it very well either. Perhaps a minor tweak would sort it out. (Or maybe I just couldn’t get the hang of it.)

This Game is INSANELY addictive! i swear ive havent played a game that addictive in that long! the controls feels really smooth, it has the right difficulty although i would love for some checkpoints but overall, its beautiful.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much. I am so happy you enjoyed it. I will definitely consider checkpoints in the full demo release!  I will keep you updated :)

(+1)

Crazy hard but plays so smooth! Very addictive.

Developer(+1)

Sorry about the difficulty. THANK YOU FOR PLAYING THOUGH :)
