Organs as collateral is an interesting design space for the world casino
Oooooh I really like the idea of this, especially. Really good job with the art, and I like the explanation of the game that you gave on the TV at the beginning. Not too long, option to skip, matches with the game's story and vibe. I think there may be some resolution issues, as I noticed some words in the main menu towards the right were cut off for me, and I was able to click some sort of button on the right, but then not return to the normal menu. Aside from that, some nitpicky critiques I might suggest if you were to continue the game are to maybe make it more obvious visually which side of the coin you landed. I think this would benefit the experience a lot since the whole anticipation depends on those moments where it's revealed heads or tails, but instead of seeing heads or tails, it's more like I figure out what I got based on if I get the screen to continue or the screen to pick a vial. Also, maybe having an animation for something happening to the heart when you die could enhance the experience. I understand it's a game jam, so it would probably be hard to have an animation for this version. But if you ever continued, you draw emphasis to the heart both visually in how you set up the scene artwise and also by zooming in each time you flip. That emphasis feels somewhat like it's for nothing becuase when you die, you just end up blinking to black and dying rather than being able to see what happens to your heart. Oh, also, the death screen is very cool too. Overall, this was a really cool game! Good job!
First of I'm so glad you enjoyed and thank you so much for the advice! All that feedback and the bugs are going to be very helpful when we continue it in future! We'll get the resolution issue sorted asap and yes I fully agree with the coin flip part, struggled to get it implemented in time since it was one of the last pieces of art we had finished so yes some definition of the result could be really nice and yep we were going to do a heart bursting kind of animation but didn't have the time so had to go without it, in the full version we definitely will be adding that, definitely feel like there's a buildup to nothing in a way so glad someone else noticed! Also glad you liked the death screen, that was like way too hard to figure out how to add with the scrolling text but once I did I liked the result. Overall thanks for the in depth feedback and glad you enjoyed our game! (Also can I ask what resolution you were playing at, perhaps it's an issue with not enough resolutions added or just not working, thanks!)
I think my resolution is 2560 x 1600 I thinkkkk. I lowkey thought I was 1920 by 1080 this whole time lol but thas wha my settings say
Really cool and well done!
I saw you are team of young devs, wow really well done!
I hope you carry on doing game jams and are able to learn a lot in the process.
Don't get too bogged down, keep pressing on, lots to learn along the way that only new ideas and challenges bring.
Polishing things up things and maintaining old projects teaches discipline but keep moving forward and pushing yourself.
So easy to burn out as a Dev team on a longer project that starts lasting 3-4 months when you are capable of making this in 2 weeks.
Congrats again and good luck in the Jam
Cool atmosphere & fantastic art. I like the probability management aspect of this concept. The full version with some proper meta-progression could be great!
I love the music, great atmosphere, cool art. but idk about the gameplay, there's 0 skill. can definitely be expanded tho
Love the atmosphere and gambling 🎰! Really solid base to expand with more mechanics!
The art is super well done, and I really enjoy the ambiance it gives off as a player. Definitely super impressive!
Excellent your game!, very cool concept and high levels for it to grow, good luck!!, congratulations
Like the art. I liked the voice acting, but I would like if the explanation would also be written. When I didn't hear something , I had to close the app and reopen it to listen to it again.
The art style and overall atmosphere are very dark, and I like it! It would be nice to add upgrades. The overall concept is very creative and interesting. Keep going!
Cool concept ! What are your plans for what's next ? There are many ways to add depth to this mechanic, it has a lot of potential ! Good job :)
Really liked the concept of the game!
The artstyle was really good, but a little inconsistent. And it would be nice if there was a little more control over the outcome of the game, instead of just random chance.
Really good job!
Let’s go gambling!
Hi!!! Really love your creativity. The art style is really cool, sound effects are good too.
I'd say what I don't like is in the intro, the voice is a little too distorted where it's kind of unpleasant to try to listen to. Still, cool animation though and the concept is cool. Also, if there was just slightly more to it, like something you do with the money, or some upgrade that changes the game, it would add a lot more intrigue.
I must say again though, honestly the art is really really cool and I think you did a great job.
Very creative take on the theme, I didn't even know about people being able to have an invincibility complex till this game. The art direction seems cohesive enough and the gameplay feels like running a slot machine in that I have no control over the outcome once the coin is flipped or the vial is chosen, which while fun the first few tries, becomes somewhat stale as there aren't really any lasting consequences to failure or success in the flips or ways to manipulate odds. Giving the player options to manipulate the odds in or against their favor or having the player's choices affect gameplay more heavily would help to feed into the invincibility complex I feel.
Very interesting art direction. The game gets a lot done through atmosphere alone, impressive work for the jam time frame! My main suggestion would be that this needs more mechanics for a full release something that can help with rng manipulations would be cool.
This is definitely one of the clever interpretations of the theme. I really like the atmosphere too. Great entry for the jam. I also saw your future plans for the game. Will be on the lookout for this one. Good job!
The art is absolutely amazing! The whole atmosphere created by everything combined is also pretty cool! I think some subtitles could help with the intro sequences, it was interesting but sometimes hard to understand. Overall, a great foundation and cool game! It seems like you're planning on expanding it, and I think that could result in a really fun and intriguing experience!
Really cool pixel art. Want to see the full version asap.
Thanks so much! definitely gonna be working more in the next months so watch this space!
very Creative game.
Thanks so much for the comment and very glad you enjoyed it! Hope you enjoy the rest of the jam!
