I love the gameplay, I think this will be a really good warmup for shooter games! I like the death animation, where the orb explode and the VFX. However, there is one small problem, the text on top might interfere with some colors of the orbs, maybe have an option to hide it maybe by pressing tab to hide and bring it up. Having an option to change your sensitivity would also be great, since this is a pure mouse game, having more freedom to change sensitivity would be nice. Overall, a really solid and simple game, love it!
The visuals are simple, but I think they work really well. For example, I liked how the cursor leaves a trail when you move it, and the animation of the enemies “exploding” looks nice too.
Other people have already left some great ideas in the comments, but since you asked for feedback, I’ll add my contribution as well: maybe you could introduce different enemy types that behave differently, like changing trajectories or shooting projectiles to distract the player.
Hope you have fun continuing to work on this game!
I LOVE THIS GIVE ME MORE
The font really matched the visuals of the game. In terms of gameplay, I didn't really get to play a long time since my screen kept freezing after destroying orbs in certain situations. I don't know if it's because of a shader taking time to load, but my screen would just freeze. I can see the appeal of this type of game if there are upgrades to make the mouse bigger and different circles appeared.
Thanks a bunch for trying out my game!
For sure, I'm gonna add a loooot of upgrades as I'm a mega-fan of roguelites :) (Just not the best at time management in jams hehe)
I'm super curious on how to recreate the screen freeze and issues. I clicked a bunch when I was destroying the projectiles and that froze/broke the game for me (didn't catch it when I was coding haha) so I'm wondering if that's what caused the freeze on your end as well?
Also, would you be interested in testing my game after I add a bunch of upgrades and audio *^*
Sure, I added it to my collection so when you update the game, I'd be happy to test it out again!
This would have been nice if there are at least a few upgrades. I would also say that it gets stale pretty fast. But great game. Great visual too. Would have been nice to have some audio feedback too. Great job!
Thanks a lot for trying out my game :))
Agreed that its bland at the moment; For sure, I will be adding upgrades and audio management, (just didn't manage my time perfectly in the jam xD)
Your words gave me a mental boost and more motivations.
If I may request, I would appreciate it if you can test my game again after the update! Your feedback is pretty spot-on :)
While I appreaciate a lot of small details like the shield pulsating when you're at low-hp, the whole gameplay loop is too simple to be engaging and the difficulty curve is just too slow.
I felt like the difficulty curve was OK (maybe I am a noob at such games too!). But I agree that the gameplay lacks something more engaging.
Thanks a lot for trying out my game :)
Completely agree that its a bit simple for engagement at the moment! Will be adding a bunch of upgrades, modes and enemy types in the future to add a bit of spice.
I am curious though, what made you feel like the difficulty curve was too slow? What would make it more difficult and engaging from your perspective and taste? (fishing for ideas hehe)
I want to have it fixed by the next patch especially since I'll be working on the wave system *^*
