Hello my friends!

So, apart from some spelling issues that will be addressed for the next update, I think the Serenity Chapter 2 (Episode 5) update went very well. Not surprisingly, some weren't thrilled with the Koikatsu scenes I did. It was something I had been contemplating for quite some time. Since Serenity crosses boundaries into other worlds (VNs), it seemed like something neat to do just for fun. A huge thanks to 13th Sin (Developer of: Fall of the Angels) which is done using Koi. He helped me in creating the chibi version of some of my characters. I created the scenes in Koi myself which was a challenge because although Studio Neo in Koi is very similar, a lot of things aren't in the same place or work the same way as HS2. His help was very much appreciated.

Now about the Serenity Chapter 1 rebuild. I've had quite a few report to me that the game would no longer run for them and were getting errors. A short while ago (I guess sometime in February), this started to happen. And even I was experiencing issues on my computer running my own games. It seems that some Windows update may have had some effect on visual novels created using an older version of Renpy. Not wanting to update for fear of breaking something, I never did update it. Updating Renpy resolved the issue. But after doing so, I noticed a few of my saves would give an error and not load. Anyway, I went from Renpy version 7.3.5 to version 8.5.2 which is quite a jump. But doing this also addressed some issues with the Android builds I usually push out along with the Mac and Windows versions. I had quite a few people let me know that their saves worked just fine, which was a relief to hear. But starting a new game pretty much guarantees you should have no issues. Serenity Chapter 2 and Last Human current versions available) are both already rebuilt in the new Renpy version.

Now that I am in between releases again, I thought it would be a good idea to go through Serenity Chapter 1, the entire script. Clean up my messy (newbie-written) code, correct spelling errors, and edit some of the dialogue slightly in an effort to... I don't know, make it less cheesy? LOL For lack of a better word... my first run at making a VN was full on "CHEESE". Some complaints about the MC seeming too weak or shy; I tried to minimize that a bit without completely rewriting scenes. Basically, just removing some silly lines, editing others to sound a bit better, etc. I am not getting into redoing renders at this time, just going through the entire dialogue. I am about halfway through it as of right now. Once I'm done, I'll create a new build and new version along with a compressed version for Android. That release will happen very shortly and instantly available to everyone.

Last Human (Episode 7) - is halfway coded already. Once I finish the Serenity C1 rebuild, I'll get back on that and should be moving on to rendering by this weekend. It takes me about 1 and 1/2 to 2 months to complete rendering so I would estimate that release could happen before the end of June. That's all I have for now. Thanks for all the support!
