Wow, this was a good game, I really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was very well done, and the plot was well written as well. I do wish there was a way to escape the killer, but itโs understandable that there wasnโt given the time constraints. The camera mechanic was also very well done! I loved how it showed you the picture that was taken.
The only issue I had was that the text went by a bit too fast at times.
Great work!
The atmosphere of this game was so so so well done man i can't glaze u enough for that . (spoilers) I was wondering is there a different ending where i could have somehow got to my car or tried to escape .
The horror factor was lacking a bit but despite for that really really enjoyed it . I have to say man really well done .
I would love if u tried my game as well : )
Love the atmosphere, story was great too and the art was so peak !
Hi, I tried your game — the atmosphere is quite interesting and fits the theme well.
I think with a bit more polish, it could become even more engaging.
Iโve also made a time-loop investigation game where every run matters — would really appreciate your feedback if you get time!
Good atmosphere, good story, good game play. You deserve a five star rating sir. Very well made game!
a solid game play! love the polaroids taking and the set up of the woods with the fog and the white pixels - the dialogue really makes the story telling - also would be funny if it ends up a FPS game hahahaha
Really cool vibe, though did get a little repetitive after seeing the same tree over and over. Definitely would've liked more landmarks to situate myself better (like the rocks on the floor). I also agree having more of an actual threat would've made the experience better. This said, very solid entry, good job!
I really enjoyed the game! The atmosphere and pacing were amazing. The jumpscare did get me, I was not expecting that. The storytelling kept me curious for more, and the dialogue was smooth. This was a well constructed game that was a lot of fun to play. I will say I didn't feel too much horror after the jumpscare. Instead, it gave me more of an action/exploration feeling.
(SPOILERS โ Play it yourself before reading!)
The Alaska Tapes mainly impressed me with its atmosphere. The idea of exploring a place that people visit as a kind of dare because something mysterious supposedly happened there and taking photos works well and creates a calm, slightly unsettling feeling. I especially liked the moment when you find cameras in the forest it subtly suggests that other people were there before you and that something might have happened to them. This kind of indirect storytelling worked really well.
However, the game didnโt really feel like a horror experience to ME. There is this silhouette that sometimes follows you, but after seeing it once, it becomes clear that it doesnโt pose a real threat (at least for now). Because of that, a lot of the tension is lost.
The ending was okay... the scene where you get shot in the forest, with bullets flying past you beforehand, is a good idea. Still, I think the tension could have been built up much better. For example, it could have included a section where you try to return to your car while hearing things like rustling leaves or cracking branches. Getting shot in a quiet moment like that would have had a much stronger impact.
Overall, itโs a game with a strong atmosphere and interesting ideas, but it still has a lot of potential when it comes to building tension and delivering on the horror aspect.
the text animation is nice, it made my whole experience
really nice atmophere use of color and fog
ANOTHER W GAME!! i liked the graphics, its very good, but as GM637 said, even i had to deal with lag spikes in the forest scene, which was not that bad... The atmosphere is ... good, not that bad, not very good, and the reason is, there is too much of fog, which made the game not that scary, so yea, but the story was nice, I LOVED THE CAMERA, even i wanted to implement that in my game, but im a beginner, had no IDEA how to do that, so yea, overall good game dude!
I wanted to continue but the forest scene had so much lagspikes its impossible to look around and move, so far, pretty nice game
Very nice game!
The atmosphere and art are outstanding! :D
The atmosphere is incredible. The PSX-style graphics are very well done. The controls in the forest are a bit clunky, partly because they slowed down on the web version. The photo mechanics are very interesting. I really enjoyed it, congratulations. Great job. 4/4 found.
Thanks for playing! Yeah sadly the web build really struggles in the forest scene ๐
Found only 2/4, good atmosphere, super realisation. how to look for a needle in a haystack, haha. I would have liked more clues to find the evidences.
Really nice! 5/5 atmosphere, and we made a game about the same killer ๐ฟ. I saw some bugs where the hunter would just float in the air, but other than that, I love the game, I almost got stuck at the last evidence
Thanks for playing! Good choice on the killed ๐ฟ
The part where you have to take 4 photos really captured the atmosphere and the feeling of fear that someone might scare me, no jumpscare was needed to scare me, the environment is incredible, the only flaw is the white square particles, I would either make them smaller or remove them because they are just floating squares.
It really reminded me of old-school games like Slenderman. I could barely find the last photo—it blends in a lot with the environment.
Is there any way to escape the hunter XD? He has amazing aim hahaha.
Thanks for playing ๐
No way of escaping sadly ๐ ran out of time to implement that for the game jam version
