Very polished experience, i'm not that good at parkour games but in the end i got that wall jump :)

the visuals look great and the story was really cool too!

Fun movement, nice story, cool art style. I hated the wall running like other commenters here, though.

This was sooooo well made, the movement is fantastic! Super hard but thats probably because im just bad. Got through the first level but couldnt complete the second. Overall from what i've seen this can be a full game for sure!

BROOOOO this was really cool. I love the art style of this, and I enjoyed that you added a story with dialogue to the game. Personally, the wall running was a bit frustrating for me at times even during the tutorial but this could jus be a skill issue, perhaps.  If other people have the same problem, I would recommend maybe having the learning curve start easier until people get used to it or maybe do adjustments to the wall running mechanic itself. I also feel like there were certain times where I would try jumping to the next platform and it would just be out of reach, not as a one off thing but I would consistently keep missing the next platform. Again, that could be intentional and it's just a skill issue, but if alot of other people feel the same way, just some small map adjustments would probably help. The only other thing would be that the sliding duration seems a tad bit short for me. I feel like all of these could be skill issues so it's kinda hard to say but for me at least when trying to slide under certain things the player would get back up before I fully cleared it. This game was really cool though! You did a good job!

Edit: Oop I forgot one thing I forgot to mention was I think the part where you let us watch the test subject ahead of us fail and die was really cool. Really effective at telling the story of what was going on and also helping us learn how the spring platforms work all in an entertaining way.

Thanks!

Yeah, I've heard a lot of people had troubles with wall running, I've been testing out how it works in other games and I'll update mine to make it feel more intuitive.

As for the platforms out of reach you are the first one I hear that from. In the tutorial I mentioned that if you hold space you jump slightly farther, so maybe that's it? There are also some harder jumps, but those are in the second level.

It is possible to slide under all obstacles in a single slide, but yeah, I've seen people having a bit of trouble at first with this .

I think it being first person makes some distances harder to judge.

Glad you enjoyed the game!

And yeah, that was the intention of that little cutscene with the guy dying, thanks for mentioning it!

Very polished and complete experience!
The wall runs were a little too hard for me tho

Love the setting and the visual style. Sliding is fun & wall jumping is slightly difficult for my skill level. Cool aesthetics & fun game!

Slick controls, it's HARD and mostly fair

I made it to the 2nd level but couldn't make that last wall run jump when the lava floor was rising

Did you block out the level all in engine or did you do a blender import? It looks pretty good!

Small note, I did get a lot of screen tearing  at the first jump section where the lava is introduced,  a VSYNC option would be appreciated.

Developer

Thanks!

Yeah, it seems it's not clear where to to from that last jump, I'll have to fix that

I used Trenchbroom (for the first time) There is a great addon called func_godot, which lets you integrate trenchbroom and godot, and it works perfectly fine.

Yes, I should add that option :)

I experimented with trenchbroom too! But mostly I used the cyclops level builder, will prob switch to trenchbroom tho cuz it crashes significantly less

I didn't end up texturing the walls

did you use the decal  feature?

Developer(+1)

I tried Cyclops in the past, but  ended up ditching it for blender lol, it crashed way too much. In trenchbroom you can just texture the brushed automatically, so that's what I used. I wanted to add decals and stuff around the maps, but I ran out of time, so I didn't even look into it

Really difficult. I like the cutscenes but I didn't like the sound effects when the message were being written on the screen or I  don't know if it was voice acting but sounds not coming clearly.

This was a really fun movement platformer with a cool retro style, and the speedrun/leaderboard focus gives it a lot of replay value

Amazing concept! I loved the backstory in the game quite a lot! Also, the wall running in this game felt super smooth, something I know is extremely difficult to achieve. So kudos for that. Great work!

Submitted

Dude we made the same game! I love your implementation and story! Very polished overall

Submitted

I like the story and cutscenes! The mechanic is also interesting, the wall-running was especially cool, though not the easiest. Great job!

Submitted

That was pretty fun, i am horrible at wall running but that's on me lol. Loved the concept, I think it's a pretty fun take on the theme. Mechanics were great, the stakes were high. Pretty good overall

Great Art, amazing movement mechanics, just hard enough to get me to play for 48min! :D

Submitted

hey, I thought you did a really great job here. The mechanics are clever, I like the invincibility shield aspect. Clearly a lot of work went into this. I am really very impressed by this.

Submitted

The aesthetics are soo cool, I love the look and feel of the game.

Submitted

Loved the aesthetic and the movement, love platformers with great controls.

I liked the game, well done I loved it, congratulations : )

One of the games where there is a story to go along with the gameplay. I enjoyed it although it was a bit hard for me, but I think I just need some time to get used to the movement. Overall, great job on the game!
