Amazing 3D models and overall work!! I had a lot of fun with the combat and the progression overall felt smooth. Nice job!!

Developer

Thank you very much! Glad you enjyoed

Submitted(+1)

Wow this is so unique, I had a bit of trouble with the combat at first but I kinda was able to cheese it a bit by just strafing aggressively. The boss at the end and the little twist really elevated this though, awesome work.

Developer

Strafing is cetanly a way to approach dodging, so good job on mastering the combat. Glad you liked our boss and twist! :)

Submitted(+1)

Great art, really matches the style of the game! And awesome Twist! :)

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you very much, I agree @henbeeman did awesome job! Glad you liked it!

really enjoyed this! The graphics, vibes and the way you have to time your attacks are 5/5

I found that attacking and moving to the side is also a very effective way to engage and evade enemies, rather than just moving backwards. btw im lame at this, the boss obliterate me 3 times in a row

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it! Tip: if you replay and defeat the boss again, it ties the whole story together, explains the theme better, and unlocks another section where you can show some of your creativity, try a different potion. But thanks again for trying 3 times hahah, I guess I suck at your boss too. :)

Loved the combat mechanics

Developer

I'm glad you liked it!

I like the combat mechanics and how you have to time attacks. I also like the aesthetics, and the sound of the gnomeworm guys is super iconic for some reason. From one two man team to another, great work

Developer

Thank you very much, glad you liked it!

Interesting take on the fist person dungeon crawlers, it has a nice cadence of play, games that let you restart over and over can be very adicting.

The combat system is a bit cluncky, but it has potential. I believe that an indicator when you attack might be great (like a slash, even in the wind) to be more in sync with it.

Overal I find this game classic and elegant, yet cluncky and chaotic somehow. I think you got something very scalable in your hands. Just balance it a little and make the hits more satisfying if you can.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the feedback and I do agree that combat can be upgraded! It's a shame tho that you didn't finsih it and left your mark in our game's story. Glad you mostly enjoyed!

Oh, this is a pretty cool idea. I love the art, the animations, the audio. Everything is just really cool. I ended up with the claymore and the earthquake thingy. Had tons of fun to be honest and the mechanic at the end typing stuff. Pretty cool. Would be cool if the code is stored in local storage for example and you can dig it up. Then maybe people who ran (for example my code is GVZ3BJ) get this displayed for them and they post it somewhere so we know when to check the run and what they ended up with. One thing though, I wasn't exactly sure how this fits the theme, but regardless. I did find one bug at the final boss, I run at it, touching it and swing with my claymore, doesn't land, but right after I dodge his attack, it lands fine. Just not before that, not sure why. Is this in the invincibility part?

Good work though. Hope you turn this into a full game :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for such detailed review! I explained the guy before why it fits the theme, basically I watched the show Dark that works with time loops and explains that the object (in my game dungeon) is invincible-eternal since you never actually exit it. Also one of the potions is exacly that ... invincibility. In brackeys game jam there was a field to fill like "Why your game fits the theme" and I thought this will have it too so I could explain it more clearly haha. For the local saving yeah I guess I could've simply used player prefs... Didn't think od that but surley one of the things to add. Thanks again for playing our game and giving this deep of a review! :)

Instantly fell in love with the enemies, SUPER COOL DESIGN AND MODELS!!! The attack could be a bit more forgiving, took a while to get used to the hit spot, but even then it felt a bit inconsistent at times. A great expererience nontheless

Developer

Thank you very much! Hitboxes basically came down to balancing and we didn't have much time for that but surely will improve it after the jam :)

Really enjoyed the art direction with this game! The SFX on the hammer was a bit TOO squeaky for me so I opted to keep using the sword after I got the hammer. Fun game though!

Developer(+1)

Yup @henbeeman did great job on thah. Thank you! Hammer was supposed to be a bad decision so that makes sense haha.

Submitted(+1)

i loved how unique this idea felt! i hope this is expanded on in the future in some way, i liked this a lot

Developer

Thank you! We do have a lot of ideas on how to expand it!

Submitted(+1)

The art and audio is great, the ending is creative but I missed my code it went too fast :( It was F63** not sure if there's a way to retreive it. Fun game but I might be missing how the invincibility fits?

Overall I'd love to see a full game in this style just with deeper mechanics

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you I'm really glad you made it through! Your code should be F93DU6 haha. About the invincibility it’s actually tied to the idea that in a way the dungeon is “invincible” because it never truly ends. It keeps looping existing outside of a clear beginning or end so nothing inside it is ever really final the player just passes through it leaving a mark behind and actually becoming the dungeon (without spoiling too much hehe). And also one of the potions gives you a little glimpse of how it feels to be invincible. I watched the show Dark recently so that left a mark on me obviously haha.

Submitted(+1)

Well I got some of the characters right even if not in the right order lol

Ah the only potion I didn't take. Thanks for explaining, I've increased the score on it, but yeah it was a bit unclear

Submitted(+1)

The audio is wonderful and animations are really juicy. Had a blast smashing enemies with toy hammer

Developer

Thanks glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Juicy game. Visuals are sooo good. Good Job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

I loved the feel of the combat and the characters. I couldnt make it to the end of it tho because of skill issue XD. would like al least some checkpoint before the boss. The enemies do a lot of damage. Very good job and good luck!

Developer

Thanks! That's a shame cuz the end might not be the actual end :O

Submitted(+1)

love the retro vibes and authenticity of this game! Great luck for the jam!

Lmk what you think of my team's game! Would highly appreciate any ratings we get <3

Developer
