Cool concept, I really like the idea of feeding and protecting the cat! The game is a bit short & simple , but still a W 🔥

Developer

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the core loop of feeding and protecting the little guy. I wanted to keep the scope tight to make sure everything felt polished for the jam, so I'm happy to hear it resonates! Appreciate the support! 🔥

Super cool game! I love the cats and all the animals. I do think the game could do more in terms of promoting the player to move around the map more and explore. Maybe part of this comes from the fact it's a clicker game? Either way, well done!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the kind words! I'm really glad you liked the cats and the overall vibe.

That's a great point about map exploration. You're right, as a clicker game, it tends to focus on one spot, but looking back, I definitely could have added more events or reasons to click further away to make the world feel more 'alive'. I'll definitely keep that in mind for my next projects! Thanks for playing and for the honest feedback.

Wholesome as it is, the game is indeed quite simplistic. It does what it sets out to accomplish but is also lack luster in that sense. It's nice the cat doesn't get damaged(hurt), and makes it a more lovely experience for cat lovers, however it isn't necessarily needed? So the game doesn't do much for the theme per say. There could be other ways to implement the theme that would impact the gameplay in a more meaningful way possibly. Maybe cat becomes invincible by picking up items of good fortune? Art is decent, Audio as well. Can't help but notice that the lucky cat looks like a regular cat tho. It could have been replaced with a chinese lucky cat(ie, DanDaDan Turbo Granny after capture) for more accuracy to the game name. In summary, wholesome game that has no animal violence but lacks in gameplay and creativity. Quite the easy game to sit down and unwind to tho

Developer

Thank you so much for such a detailed and honest review.

You made some really great points regarding the theme interpretation. You're right, I focused more on creating a 'chill' experience, and I definitely see now how I could have tied the 'Invincible' theme into the core mechanics more creatively (like the temporary power-up idea you mentioned). That’s a fantastic suggestion for my next project!

I’m glad you enjoyed the wholesome vibe and the art—that was definitely my goal. Regarding the cat’s look, that’s a fair critique too; I'll definitely consider more iconic character designs next time.

Thanks for taking the time to play and share your thoughts, it’s really helpful for my growth as a solo dev!

Polished and cute! I do wish there was maybe a way to switch between placing sushi and killing cuz now i kept placing sushi right on the boars. The art was very charming!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, Vic! I’m glad you liked the art and overall polish.

Regarding the control scheme: that mechanic was actually an intentional design choice to make the clicking more deliberate and increase the 'skill' required in the heat of the moment, forcing players to choose between feeding and defending under pressure.

However, I totally understand why it feels tricky, and your suggestion about switching modes is a great idea for balancing accessibility without losing the intensity. I’ll definitely keep this in mind for any future updates! Thanks for playing!

I liked the style of the game, really cool the idea of us being a god :D, congratulations

Developer

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the divine experience. Being a god sounds like a lot of power, but in practice, it’s mostly just trying to stop a cat from eating sushi in the wrong place and frantically clicking away! Really appreciate the kind words, thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Took me a while before I realized what I was placing down was sushi. The game is verry charming. I just wish there was more incentive to explore. I just kind of stayed in the starting area and based on the other comments I've read many other people did too. I liked the chillness of it though.

Developer

Thanks for the honest feedback, Jestabbit! I’m glad you enjoyed the 'chill' vibe of the game. You're spot on about the lack of exploration incentives — that’s something I definitely want to refine. I actually tried implementing some tips to guide players toward the secrets and interactable objects, but looking back, I agree they didn't quite hit the mark. Definitely a lesson learned for my next project!

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. I'm heading over to check out 'Invincible Tower' right now — excited to see what you've built!

This was a really good experience. It was well polished and was actually very fun to play. I really liked your art style, and the game felt really interactive. Absolutely amazing work!

Developer(+1)

Huge thanks for the kind words, yoavhevlin! I'm thrilled that you found it interactive and fun — making things 'feel' right when you click them was my main focus throughout the jam. I really appreciate you taking the time to play it. Your positive feedback made my day! Best of luck with your entry!

Amazing art and the gameplay was fun to play! Love the idea that we are an omnipotent God just saving a little cat.

I got so invested into the game because I was so focused in killing the boars that I forgot to spawn more sushis.

The text above told me to explore a little but I didn't have time to read what they said, so in the end I didn't explore much, so I just played mostly in the middle of the town.

Developer

Haha, that’s exactly the kind of multitasking chaos I was aiming for! Glad you got so invested in saving the cat that you forgot about the sushis — that's the best compliment to the 'God-Sim' feel. Thanks for the feedback on the text/hints too! I’ll definitely make them more readable in a future update so players have a better chance to catch all the tips. Thanks for playing!

The art style and overall environment are so cute! It’s very relaxing and fun. I see a lot of potential in this game, especially if you add more upgrades or enemies. For example, you could introduce auto-turrets, or when the player has too much energy, instead of only increasing the number of enemies, you could also increase their health. So I just felt a lack of challenge here.

I also noticed that I didn’t really explore the map — maybe adding some kind of random "super food" that gives extra energy would encourage exploration. I mostly stayed in one corner the whole time, haha. Overall, it’s a very nice game, I’d definitely play it again if you update it!

Developer

Thank you so much for such detailed feedback, nenayz! I love the 'super food' idea for encouraging map exploration — that's a brilliant way to fix the static gameplay issue. I'm also taking notes on your suggestions regarding auto-turrets and enemy health scaling for the post-jam version. Really glad you enjoyed the art and atmosphere!

I'm heading over to check out your game 'Deeper Down' right now. Can't wait to see what you've built!

A simple and cute game, the artstyle is pretty good same the aesthetic of the enviroment
As other have point out WASD keys for the camera movement would be great
Either way, you did a great job as a solo dev ^^

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the honest feedback, Thund3rAce! I'm glad you enjoyed the art style and atmosphere — that was one of my main focus areas. And you're absolutely right about the WASD camera, I’ve already noted that as a top priority for my next update/project!

Ok, so I would like to clarify I am not someone who particularly likes clicker games, so I would take my comment very lightheartedly cuz my taste in games is already not in the best place for critiquing your game. But I feel like there's a contrast in what the player is supposed to feel from the game or what the overall vibe and experience should be. The vision could be more focused in its execution. So here's what I mean: You have multiple enemy boars who are coming to attack you from multiple different angles, which adds a layer of stress that works well with tower defense games and other genres, but then you add very happy music playing in the background and then you feed your cat which is something relaxing and dosen't exactly match to me with the idea of defending from boars. Ok, thinking out loud though, Balloons TD also has happy music playing in the background, but it still works, but for your game, it doesn't for me. I'm not sure exactly why. Maybe it's the complexity of the mechanics and the fact that maybe they don't complement each other that well??? Like in Balloons TD it's obvious your goal is to not let them baloons down the path but for your game it's kind of complicated because it's like ok I have to defend the cat, but I also have to feed the cat, and then also I have to collect energy. So like you're adding mechanics on top of each other (which isn't a bad thing) but the problem is that it they don't support each other. Instead, it just makes the vision for the game more muddied, which makes the player confused about the objective (in my opinion). Again, take my thoughts very lightly cuz I'm comparing to Balloons TD, but you might not even be trying to make your game similar to Balloons TD at all. Overall, I would jus take my comment as perspective from a person who may not be your target audience, but still a perspective nonetheless. I still did enjoy playing your game,  especially because of how unique it was, and I always find it interesting to see what people come up with in short time spans like this for game jams. Despite my feedback which I hope didn't seem mean, I'm still impressed lol. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Wow, Angry Fry, thank you for such a deep analysis! This is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for. You've hit on a very interesting point about the tone dissonance between the music/visuals and the stress of the gameplay. I intentionally went for that contrast, but I totally see your point about it making the objective feel a bit 'muddy'.

Comparing it to Bloons TD is actually really helpful—it gives me a clear direction on how to better communicate the player's priorities in future updates. I really appreciate you taking the time to write this out; it’s incredibly valuable for my growth as a dev. Thanks for playing and sharing your honest perspective!

Cute cat defense clicker game :D I like the sounds and the game’s chill vibe. I understand the idea behind making everything controllable with the mouse, but it makes camera movement a bit tricky. It might be better with a non moving camera and  wider camera angle. Nice work as a solo game developer !

Developer

Hey HappySealGames! Glad you enjoyed the chill vibe and the cat defense concept! I really appreciate the feedback on the camera controls — that's a great suggestion about the static, wider-angle view. I'm definitely keeping that in mind for future updates/projects. Thanks for checking out my game and for the kind words about the solo dev journey — it means a lot coming from you!

Submitted(+1)

This is such a relaxing take on the wave defense type of game. As mentioned by the others, it would have been nice to have better camera control other than the mouse. Great job nonetheless!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, mizu! I completely agree with you regarding the camera controls. It's actually the #1 thing I've been working on based on the community's response!

I’ve already implemented a much smoother camera system, but I’m holding off on pushing the update to keep the jam entry stable for now. I’ll be releasing an updated version shortly after the voting period ends. Glad you enjoyed the relaxing vibe otherwise! Good luck with your project!

The art style Is Great!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, Mandoli! I really appreciate it

Amazing art style. Loved all the cat and boar animations. An interesting concept for this jam. Great work!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the kind words! I spent a lot of time on the animations to make sure the cat and the boars felt expressive. I'm really glad you enjoyed the art style and the concept!

Submitted(+2)

Nice and relaxing until boars start to swarm you. I like how hints were given for the secret treasure if you beat the game. The main thing I can see improved is how the camera moves. At the moment, you have to use the mouse to pan the camera. I think using ASWD keys to move the camera while using the mouse for its main function will make gameplay much more fun and convenient.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, Krad! I’m really glad you enjoyed the 'calm before the storm' vibe and found the secret treasure hint — I wanted to give players a little extra goal to aim for.

You are 100% right about the camera; it's the most requested feature right now, and I'll definitely implement WASD in the post-jam patch to make the multitasking smoother.

Good luck to your team!

The landcape is amazing the game is great really enjoyed it.

Developer

Thank you so much! I spent a lot of time on that landscape, so I'm really happy you noticed it.

love  cerativty  landscape  enverment  looks  amazing

Developer

Thanks David! Glad you liked the environment.

Submitted(+1)

Love a cat game anytime. The landscape was pretty, I liked the outdoorsy village vibes and the game mechanics. I agree with what others are saying about the WASD camera controls and I did get a little tired of the boar noises but that's minute. Great game!

Developer

Thank you! I’m glad the village vibes and the cat resonated with you. You’re totally right about the boar sounds — I’ll look into adding more audio variety to keep it fresh. And yes, WASD is officially at the top of my to-do list for the update. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Fun take on the theme, being able to do everything with the mouse is really nice for keeping things simple but I think increasing the camera scroll speed (or at least adding the option to change it) would be super helpful. Nice job overall though!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I tried to keep it simple with the mouse-only approach, but I see now that it limits the speed of the game. I’ll definitely look into adding a camera speed slider or just implementing WASD to give players more freedom. Glad you enjoyed the 'Void Reaper' vibes!
