Peak art & audio with crime level designs... (。•̀ ⤙ •́ 。ꐦ)

genuinely insane art and sound, perfectly captured the gba vibes. feeling strong kirby inspirations! i did have a hard time playing, the game almost felt like it was running at 2x speed, not sure if that is intended but i found it hard to progress. im not the best at platformer games though might just be me. loved the character design as well. fantastic

Developer

hi thank u so much for the feedback uwu to stop the game from going too fast just set the monitor frame rate in windows display settings to 60hz c: sowyyyy thats an issue on our end

Wowie what a fun throwback to those classic platformers. The cover grabbed my with it's Gameboy theme =D. I did find it challenging to jump at times which lead me to dying a lot but that might be a skill issue haha. It was a really well made game overall. GGs

Art is veeery cute, and the music is a mix of Sonic and Kirby, I loved it! My only issue is that while the gameplay is a bit floaty and not super precise (which isn’t necessarily a problem), the level design seems to expect more precision, and because of that the game can feel a bit too difficult (But, as I said, I don't think the gameplay is bad because of that, it’s just that the combination feels a bit off). But other than that, I was really having fun with it!

Aesthetics of the game are fantastic, but the gameplay doesn't have the right feel to me. It's hard to land jumps because they're so floaty, and I swear the hit detection is off. It seems like if you try to land on a snowball enemy's head from a large height you just get hit instead of bouncing. But other than that great submission.

Developer

thank u so much for trying it and for the honst feedback c: sadly, we didn't have enough time to implement a lot of things properly. But the team is  looking forward on finishing it one day!

the art of the game and the music are perfect, but the game is very difficult at least for me, don't get me wrong I'm a very casual person and for a cozy game jam I won't think that there is a difficult game here, the idea of the game is brilliant but I think the size of the character and the fact that there isn't a save near the first boss. Made me give up on the game. But anyway, for those who want to challenge themselves, this game is magnificent. Really great work

Is there a way to open the game in windowed mode? Bc it keeps opening on my second monitor and all the art is cut off on both sides T_T

If the window keeps popping up an y'all's alternative monitors, click into the game, Alt+Enter, pull it into your main monitor, Alt+Enter again!

Anyway, the game is BEAUTIFUL! I love the retro feel of everything. My only issue is, that I can't seem to get past the first (?) map since I can't keep up with the floaty/fast movements once you press WASD. A bit more weight to the controls would feel nice, imo!

I'll definitely try again later. This game is worth seeing it through the end of it!!!

Amazing pixel art and sound! The only problem is that having the camera at that zoom doesn't let me see the platforms, and it's trial and error to land. I know the GBA games did this because of the low resolution, games like Rayman and Mario Land have this gimmick. The controls are great. Good job!

The art is quite amazing, i'm impressed by how fluid the animations are. The music and sfx are also very well done. The difficulty of the game is really high, the player character has a hard time changing directions in the air, making it hard to recalculate where you're about to land.

And also maybe a slight bug or if I'm doing something wrong, I can't interact with the carrots at all, which I assume is suppose to restore your health. The camera work could also be improved somewhat by adding a "lookahead" feature, where you offset the camera to the direction where the player is looking at (left or right).

All in all, the game looks very good, but the gameplay could use some improvements.

Very, very cute game. The art style is absolutely immaculate honestly. What I found a bit frustrating was the movement. After getting used to it it worked fine, but it's pretty unresponsive for a platformer (mainly changing directions mid-jump). From a dev-perspective, I guess you just apply force in whatever direction I press, meaning it takes a while to zero out the opposite direction force if I was moving in the other direction before. (Also, having to set my monitor to 60fps to not zoom all over the place :D FixedUpdate vs. Update is an important distinction to make in Unity :)

But other than that, really a fun, well-polished and beautifully looking platformer, with an adorable main character and animations.

Edit: The carrots cannot be interacted at all it seems, at least I couldn't figure out how.
