Very cute! The minigame was simple but carried by the hilarious story.
Well done!
I got you Bart! The game runs very smooth in the browser and the fishing is oddly satisfying. Talking to Bart is an instant plus. I am a big fan of the 2D art style as well. Great Work!
The artstyle plus fishing plus talking fish and talks about going crazy made me think it was going to be a indie horror type of game lol. The story is playful and the fish got personality. I really like the showing of the 'fishing bucket' between catches to show that the fish is gone instead of just a text exclamation of "fish is missing".
This is a good idea with a lot of room for expansion if you ever wanted to add to it in the future. Thanks for the game!
This was a fun story. I kept thinking I was going to be jump scared.
I am so genuinely charmed by this, what a succinct little experience! I don't really have any notes i think you did a great job c:
I did not expect to find dialogue and story in a fishing simulator.. especially not, well, from the fish. Nice lol.
There’s something about mouse-drawn MS Paint–style visuals that automatically makes this game both funny and cool and whimsical at the same time. I really enjoyed the fishing, and the transition from the start scene into the gameplay is one of my favorites. The DEPTH of the game (get it? fishing? depth? eeeeh, you get it) is awesome. The only thing missing was settings in the game itself to adjust mouse sensitivity on the fly. Other than that, everything is excellent.
Thank you! The badly drawn art was definetly a choice and not my lack of skills ;)
Bart and the MCs dialogue together is absolutely hilarious, the drawn sprites and soothing guitar were an absolute BANGER for cozy-ness. Some polish and more levels and some more banter between the mc and bart and i'd play this for hoursss. great stuff!! ^^
Yeah the banter was fun to come up with, I could've added more
Haha, wow, I was not expecting that at all lol. It was really a fun surprise to find a little story in here, and it was genuinely hilarious. I loved the back-and-forth between bart and your character. The visuals were nicely done too, and it ran really smoothly in the browser for me. This was a really fun time.
Glad you liked the story! :)
I like the artstyle and the narrative. Very good!
Cute graphics and funny story! The first time I fished out the (totally) normal fish and it disappeared from my inventory, I thought it was a bug, but turned out it was the plottwist.
I said it over on discord already, but its cool to see another fishing game in the jam :D Love the vibe of your game!
Thank you! I was afraid the story would be too abstract
Good, funny game. I like the doom style fishing rod.
I wasn't going for doom but i'll take it 😅
a very cozy game about fishing (and loosing your mind) was very sad that there is no stuff in the house but still a great game can see the level of polish put into this (:
Yeah the house was always meant to be a prop. I wouldn't call it exactly polished but thank you!
I thought the game was going to take a very dark turn with that totally normal fish. Sometimes the drawn and retro-realistic graphics seem a bit odd together, but the gameplay is relaxing and easy to learn. Nice little story too, well done!
My game suddenly twisting into a dark horror game would've been sick. I tried to get experimental with the sort of ps1 graphics and crudely drawn art not sure how well it turned out.
Both styles look great on their own. They don't easily blend together as they are just so different.
