I liked the farming actions, it felt nice to go through the steps.

Unfortunately there was not a lot more to do, but I did like seeing the villagers pick up the crops and carry them somewhere. I would love to see this in a farming game, instead of putting the crops in a box and getting a nebulous amount of money the next day, haha.

With an explicitly set goal to work towards this would be great! Good concepts to build on top of.

Nice as a prototype of your farming actions, they work well. The watering and digging auto-targeting is very nice. I agree harvesting needs to work the same way.

I am a bit unsure about having fixed areas for different plants and having the planting be fixed according to that - in a larger game I think the strategy / flexibility of choosing your crops is pretty important to users.

I also think with the nice way you've set up the auto-targeting, planting blocks should be 3x3? Maybe that's just what I'm used to from other games but it feels like a waste standing in 1 spot, and only digging/watering 6 places

cute concept, but thats pretty much it. there are some really interesting and well done mechanics in here like when your selecting where to plant or water and it auto selects it.

not much to criticize atm, since theres barely anything here; its a walking simulator where u can sometimes plant and harvest stuff.

i would say though that the camera is too far away, an adaptive camera wud be nice here... where it zooms out as your sprinting, or pans to the direction of your cursor.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad some of the mechanics stood out, I am looking into ways to add more to them and polish them as well.

An adaptive camera when sprinting is a great suggestion, I’ll explore ways to implement it.

The farming mechanic is really well made, I like how holding the action will auto select and change tiles to perform. Will be better if this action applies to harvesting too.
I also really like how seamless the world connects, at first I though its a huge map, but then found that it actually loops the map.

It a very cozy and chill game.

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

Totally agree, holding the harvest action should behave like the rest. This should be a quick fix.

Relaxing and cozy farming game! Really love the idea of "infinite world" by just letting the player loop back to the start.

This game really heals me after playing like 30 bee games (¯▿¯) It feels nice to just walk around the infinite town and see what the NPCs are doing~

Developer

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it!

Overall very cute! I really like all the spritework, especially all the characters and all the growth stages of the crops! The music was also quite nice, though it crackles when looping.

When the redhead grabbed my box of veggies and bought it to the storefront, I was hoping it was going to put them out on the display haha.

It could also be very cute for the harvest to send the food flying to the crates instead of just appearing there! The tool animations could *really* benefit from even some simple sfx and maybe a little less delay so you can move sooner.

That said, the houses shaking all over the place as I walked was quite nauseating. The cursor and shovel also felt to be inaccurate at times? The cursor would end up on a cell as I dig/start to dig (maybe due to a smoothed position?) and I would end up digging nothing. I didn't understand at first that I have to dig a hole twice, maybe that's what was happening?

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to play and share your thoughts!

These are all known issues I’m planning to address after the jam. I was looking into improving the tool animations, especially reducing the delay on the shovel (I forgot to change this before submitting and it was on my todo list lol), since digging currently feels a bit slow. And yes, you do need to dig twice on the same spot, which may have caused some confusion.

The mouse controls are a bit of an extra. I originally designed the gameplay around keyboard input only (which would automatically select the soil in progress or the nearest spot to the player), and added mouse interaction later as an option. I can see how that might be causing some of the inaccuracy you mentioned, so I’ll definitely revisit that.

The sprite shaking and overall visual stutter are also high on my priority list, since they take away from the cozy feel I’m going for.

Thanks again for the kind words and the fun suggestions. I love the idea of making interactions more lively and expressive!

Seeing the map loop back to where I was felt really trippy and could be used for some sort of liminal concept. Seeing the NPCs move around the place made the world feel more alive.

Okay, I really like the interpretation of seemless. Could go a darker route with that too, I'm a farmer who just never can leave the town lol. But it's great, I love it. The audio is very cozy, the art works great (also you used the same houses than I did for mine heh). The camera movement is a little stuttery, especially when working diagonally, but that was the only thing that was a bit off :) With more polish to the gameplay loop this could be really fun too. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! Appreciate the feedback! I also noticed the houses were the same too lol.
Yes the diagonal movement is causing a bit of a stutter (an issue with Godot's camera movement, pixel art placements and the size of the window) - I will be trying to fixes to this post jam.
I will be implementing new features after the jam too that will add  more to the gameplay like a little farming sim.

This had a lot of charm. Love your take on the theme, it was literally one small place lol. The farming is really good. It was visually pleasing digging a hole in all 4 rows, planting them, watering them in a row, and then watching them all grow in unison. The music was a good choice; it was really chill and helped the vibe.  Nailed pretty much every limitation of the theme, I went with Mop :). This was nice to play.

Thank you so much!

Surprised by the polish of the game! The looping is there. The spring vibes are there. The assets you used are fitting. A nice little package :^)

Developer

Thank you! I’m excited to add new features and systems to bring more life to it after the jam.

Enjoyed the planting mechanic once I figured it out, also pleasantly surprised when I went for a wander around that I just looped back to my farm! Enjoyed it, good job!

Developer

Thanks so much! Happy you enjoyed the little loop I built! - This ended up being a big focus for me and took a while to get right
